Pretty Home Wedding Which Occurred at Farmington
Farmington, June 21 - The marriage of Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob DE RUE, to George Ernest CROCKER, of this town occurred this evening, at 7 o'clock in the presence of about sixty guests. The ceremony was performed in the west parlors of their home before a bank of ferns and beneath a bell of roses, by Rev., H. H. WISHAM, of Macedon Center. They were attended by Charles WILKINSON, of Perinton, as best man and the matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Charles WILKINSON. The wedding march was played by Miss Matie LAPHAM of Rochester.
The bride was gowned in silk mull trimmed with lace and she carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses. After the ceremony a bounteous repast was served, after which the young people left for an extended Western trip. They will be at home to their friends after July 1st. The out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Henry SAWYER of Victor, Arthur CONIFF and Miss Mary B. LAPHAM of Rochester.

Farmington, Jan. 16 - John WATERSTRAW, 81 years old, died Wednesday at his home, two miles west of this village. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Louise WATERSTRAW.

ALLEN FAMILY Reunion - Farmington, July 11 - The annual reunion of the ALLEN family took place July 3d at Roseland Park, Canandaigua Lake. Relatives were present from Victor, Marengo, Brocton, Clyde, Wayneport and Farmington. A program was given by the members.

OBITUARY - BOWERMAN - In the early morning of January 5th, occurred the death of Maryett Gillis, widow of Silas Gifford BOWERMAN, of Farmington. Mrs. BOWERMAN was the daughter of Robert and Martha Hart GILLIS and was born December 4, 1846, in the town of Victor, where she lived until her marriage, December 9, 1862. Of the 10 children born to Mr. and Mrs. BOWERMAN, 3 daughters and 3 sons survive. The yare Mrs. Mary A. HURLBURT of Penn Yan, Miss Martha L. BOWERMAN of Farmington, Mrs. Florence H. TALLMAN of Macedon, Jerome and Robert D., of Farmington and Manly H. of Fairport; 29 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive her. Mrs. BOWERMAN'S consistent Christian life endeared her to all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted from her late home in Farmington this (Friday) afternoon at 2:30). Burial was made in North Farmington cemetery.

The funeral of Leslie D. Lapham, of Rochester, who died very suddenly at his work in that city on Saturday (Apr 30th), was held from the home of his sister, No. 14 Oxford Street, at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in the North Farmington Friends Cemetery. Mr. Lapham was a former resident of this town for a great many years, and was the son of the late George and Ida Loomis Lapham, who formerly resided on and owned the large farm now owned by George Fox. The survivors are one son, David, two sisters, Miss Mary Lapham, from whose home the funeral was held, and Mrs. Ida Ruth Failing, all of Rochester.

FARMINGTON - Miss Margaret Herendeen entertained relatives and friends at a variety shower, Saturday evening, in honor of Miss Leora Allen, whose marriage to Arthur Herendeen will take place on September 15th.

HERENDEEN - ALLEN
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis F. Allen on Thursday afternoon, a very pretty wedding took place, when their eldest daughter, Miss Leora May Allen, became the bride of Arthur Herendeen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Herendeen, all of Farmington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Hallett Herendeen of Odessa, N.Y., an uncle of the groom, in the presence of about 50 relatives.
The bridal party took its place before a banking of ferns, gladiolus and clementine, where the wedding vows were pledged. The bride was charmingly gowned in Manhatten color silk, her bouquet was of white roses, lilies of the valley and gypsophilia. She was attended by her sister, Miss Florence Marion Allen, as bridesmaid. Her gown was of green silk, and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses with sprays of gypsophilia. The groom's attendant was Francis Morey Herendeen, his brother. Mrs. Herendeen is of the third generation of brides to be married from the Allen Homestead.
A wedding luncheon was served by the Misses Jennie and Elizabeth Padgham, of Farmington, Ralph Hawkins of Victor, and Park Allen of Wayneport, all cousins of the bride.
Out of town guests included Dr. and Mrs. George S. Allen of Clyde, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hawkins and son Ralph, of Victor, Mrs. Clementine Bancroft and Hale C. Cole, of Rochester, Rev. and Mrs. J. Hallett Herendeen of Odessa, N.Y., Miss Jane E. Herendeen of New York City, Mrs. Mary S. Calkins of North Bloomfield and Mr. and Mrs. George Slocum of Fairport.
Mr. and Mrs. Herendeen are enjoying a motor trip to the Adirondacks and on their return will reside in Farmington.
The prenuptial events were a linen shower by the Misses Jane and Effie Herendeen, Margaret Herendeen and Mrs. Roy Baker, and a variety shower by Mrs. Fred Herendeen, and Mrs. Roy Wyman of Shortsville.

+ Mrs. John MARTZ will have charge of the Christmas program to be given by the children of the Grange members at a meeting to be held this week, Saturday evening. Ladies are asked to furnish candy.

+ Miss Eska FOX of Rochester spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George FOX.

+ Miss Grace GREENE attended a meeting and election of the officers of the county executive committee of the Home Bureau at Canandaigua. The election resulted in the same officers being re-elected. Mrs. GREENE is one of the executive committee.

The will was recently admitted to probate in Surrogate Court at Canandaigua, the sons qualifying as executors. A bequest of $300 is made to the South Farmington Cemetery Association, and $100 to the South Farmington Cemetery. A niece Katie S. White of California, and Catherine S. Ransom of Canandaigua, each receive $200, and the residue passes in equal shares to the two sons, Gardner and Daniel Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Keefe Entertain on 50th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Keefe of Farmington Station recently entertained a number of relatives at their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Keefe were married in Palmyra by Rev. Father Casey. John Reynolds of Macedon is the sole living witness of the ceremony. Their three sons with their families were present at the golden wedding celebration. Edward of Victor, Albert of Fairport and William of this town. Guests were present from Farmington, Victor, Palmyra, Manchester, Rochester, Macedon and Fairport.

Francis M. Meath - Funeral services for Francis M. Meath, aged 22 years, who died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Meath, Telyea street, early Saturday morning following a long illness, were held from St. Mary's church on Monday morning. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Bearers were Harold and John Finnerty, Francis McKay, Leslie Case, Cummings Hanovan, Emmett Burke. Survivors are his parents, five brothers and one sister, James, Herbert, John, Robert and Donald Meath, and Mrs. William Mulheron, all of Canandaigua.

Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Mary Polee Brady, two daughters, Wilmah and Carol, two sons, John and Donald, his father, John P. Brady, all of Rochester, by six brothers, Frank and Leo of Rochester, Lewis P. of LeRoy, John J. and Walton of Victor, and by three sisters, Mrs. William Woodside and Miss Viola Brady of Rochester and Mrs. E. J. Keefe of Victor.

+ Fred BREWSTER is recovering at the Genesee hospital in Rochester where he is ill.

+ Mr. and Ms. Norman NORRIS have returned from a trip to Canada and to Eastern points.

+ Elizabeth LITTLE of Canandaigua, was a guest of Ruth KATKAMIER for several days last week.

+ The GARDNER family reunion will be held at Farmington Grange hall on Saturday, August 3. Picnic dinner at noon.

+ The CAHILL family reunion was held with the CAHILL family at Brookside Farm on Sunday. There were about 55 present.

+ William MANEY has been suffering form a badly sprained foot the past week, which he suffered while at his work in Rochester.

Miss Ruby J. Broderick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Broderick of Farmington, and Howard M. Crowley, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Crowley of Farmington, were married at St. Patrick's church in Macedon at 9 o'clock, Thanksgiving Day morning, the Rev. George Kettel officiating. The nuptial mass followed the ceremony and selections were sung by Donald Driscoll of Lima.

SCHRADER - Mrs. William SCHRADER, aged 77 years, died at her home in Farmington on Thanksgiving Day after a brief illness with pneumonia. She was born in Mecklenberg, Germany and came to this country when a child. On March 24, 1876, she married Mr. SCHRADER, they having celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary at their home last Spring. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Fred and John SCHRADER of Macedon; one daughter, Mrs. Charles KENT of Macedon Center, and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday with Rev. E. C. MILLER of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment was made in North Farmington cemetery.

He is survived by one son, Albert Ketcham of Victor, seven daughters, Mrs. Randall and Mrs. Alma Robbins of Farmington, Mrs. Ida Petty of Shortsville, Mrs. Mary Goodell of Manchester, Mrs. Minnie Dillman of Pittsford, Mrs. Nettie Anderson of Rochester, and Mrs. Clara Randall of Texas, and one brother, Daniel Ketcham of Rochester, sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

PADGHAM - Albert Padgham, a native and lifelong resident of Farmington, died last Sunday, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. George S. Allen in Clyde, where he was visiting. Mr. Padgham, who was 82 years old, had been ill but a few days, suffering from pneumonia. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Smith Padgham, two daughters, Mrs. George S. Allen of Clyde, and Mrs. Charles Herendeen of Farmington, two brothers and a sister, Henry Padgham of Victor, Gilbert Padgham of Grand Ledge, Mich., and Mrs. Joseph Tuttle of Farmington. Funeral services were held at the Friend's Church in Farmington, Tuesday afternoon, and burial made in Farmington cemetery.

BOWERMAN - PADGHAM

BOWERMAN - PADGHAM - A quiet wedding took place in Farmington at the home of Mr. & Mrs. William H. LEGGETT at 8 o'clock Monday evening, May 5th , when Miss Elizabeth Allen PADGHAM of Farmington, was united in marriage with Lloyd Jerome BOWERMAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert BOWERMAN of Cheshire, former residents of Farmington township. the wedding ceremony was performed by Lizzie M. LEGGETT, a former pastor of the Friends' church, of which the bride is a member. The attendants were Miss Jennie C. PADGHAM of Farmington, a sister of the bride, and Robert J. BOWERMAN Jr., of Cheshire, a brother of the groom. Mrs. BOWERMAN is a graduate of the Macedon High School and has studied in the R.B.I. in Rochester. she is a member of the choir of the Friends church and a teacher in the Sunday School.

+ Home Destroyed But Slow Fire Allowed Salvage - Fire which is thought to have started from a chimney destroyed the home of Fred MOORE and family on Dynamite Hill in the town of Farmington last Saturday. The alarm was sounded here just before noon and several Victor fireman responded, but upon arrival found that the contents of the house had been removed and that the building was doomed. Macedon firemen were also on the scene. The building, a small house of oldtime constriction, with heavy frame and plank siding, burned so slowly that the doors and windows were removed and saved along with the furnishings. The site is opposite the home of Supervisor, Oscar GARDNER .

LANSING - Mrs. Adelia Hoag LANSING, 88, widow of Peter LANSING, died Tuesday morning at her farm home in the town of Farmington, five miles northwest of Shortsville. Her sister, Miss Harriet HOAG, with whom she resided is the only immediate relative. Funeral from her late home, Friday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock.

+ Two Fatally Hurt and Two Injured in Car Collision - In an automobile crash on the Buffalo road during a dense fog, Monday morning, Miss Myrna TURNER, aged 21 of Farmington and David GREENLEAF, 26, of Perry, received fatal injuries, and Russell SHERMAN, 19 and his sister, Leona SHERMAN, 21, of Farmington, were badly hurt. Miss TURNER died soon after reaching Memorial hospital here, and Mr. GREENLEAF succumbed to his injuries, Wednesday. Little change is reported at the hospital in the condition of Russell and Leona SHERMAN.

It is believed that SHERMAN, who was taking the two girls to Geneseo Normal school, where they were students, turned out to pass a car and failed to see the machine driven by GREENLEAF, coming from the west. The accident happened about 3 miles west of East Bloomfield.

Funeral services for Miss TURNER were held from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. TURNER, in Farmington, Wednesday, and interment was made in Boughton Hill cemetery, Victor. Besides her parents, she leaves a sister, Lola, and a brother, Anson, of Farmington. She was a graduate of Manchester High school and a senior at Geneseo Normal. Mr. GREENLEAF was the son of John GREENLEAF of Perry, a native of Hopewell. He leaves his parents, a sister, Dorothy,

and an adopted sister and brother. He was employed at the State College of Agriculture in Ithaca.

+ KYTE - Charles L. KYTE, formerly of Farmington, died in La Fayette, NJ, Sunday, December 3, 1933, aged 80 years. He is survived by two sons, Floyd D., of Shortsville; Ermil G., of Rochester and four daughters, Mrs. Altha DAVIS and Mrs. Lelia MC MILLAN of Canandaigua; Mrs. Mabel FOX of (cut off)

CROWLEY - Mrs. Margaret Crowley, wife of Michael C. Crowley, entered into rest at her home in Farmington, Saturday, January 13, 1934. Besides her husband, she is survived by twelve children, John, Clement and Leo, of Rochester, Charles of Geneva, Arthur of Macedon, Albert of Shortsville, James, Francie and Howard of Victor, Mrs. Julia Tobin of East Bloomfield, Mrs. D. S. McMillan of Long Island, Mrs. Earl Broderick of Victor, 37 grandchildren and one great grandchild, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. John Driscoll of Lima, Mrs. Charles Broomfield of Shortsville, and John O'Rourke of Rochester.

The marriage of Miss Jennie C. Padgham, daughter of Supervisor and Mrs. Gilbert H. Padgham of Farmington, and Robert J. Bowerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowerman of Bonnie Lea Farm, Rochester Road, took place at the Friends church in Farmington, Monday afternoon. Rev. Arthur W. Hammond officiated, the double ring ceremony being used.

Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Harold Kesel of Pittsford sang, " Love You Truly," accompanied by Miss Muriel Baker, who also played the wedding marches. The church was beautifully decorated in a color scheme of blue and white. The bride's gown of light blue silk poplin trimmed with lace was also worn by her mother and grandmother. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and larkspur tied with yellow ribbons.

Miss Miriam Sheldon of Farmington, as bridesmaid, wore light blue organdy and carried a bouquet of pink snapdragons tied with blue. Ralph Dusett of Victor was best man and ushers were Leonard and James Padgham, brothers of the bride, Lloyd Bowerman, brother of the groom, all of Farmington, and Oscar B. Gardner, Jr., of Rochester.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception to 180 guests was held in the church dining room. Guests were present from Rochester, Brockport, Geneva, Pittsford, Keuka Park, Canandaigua, Palmyra, Macedon, Macedon Center, Fairport and Farmington. After a short eastern motor trip Mr. and Mrs. Bowerman will live at Bonnie Lea farm.

GRINNELL - BREWSTER - Miss Olive M. C. BREWSTER, daughter of Mrs. Clara M. BREWSTER of Brownsville, and George B. GRINNELL of Farmington, were married at the home of the Brides mother, Wednesday evening, April 3, in the presence of the immediate family and a few close friends. The Rev. Carlyle BOYNTON, pastor of the Victor Methodist church performed the ceremony and attendants were Miss Bertha GRINNELL and Henry E. BREESE of Macedon. Luncheon was served after the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. GRINNELL will reside in Farmington.

EIGHME - William EIGHME of Farmington, 51 years old, passed away at the Thompson Memorial hospital in Canandaigua, April 21, 1935. he was a interior decorator and did considerable work in Victor, several years ago. For some years, he had been in failing health. The surviving relatives are the widow, a son, Charles of Rochester, a daughter, Mrs. Elson ELLSWORTH of Farmington, and a sister, Mrs. James BOORMAN of Rochester. Funeral services were held at the home in Farmington, Monday.
