HERENDEEN - The funeral of Miss Josephine M. Herendeen, was held from the home of her brother, Joseph M. B. Herendeen, north of the Quaker church in Farmington, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Herbert Gaylord of Canandaigua officiating. Burial was made in Farmington Cemetery.

WEIGERT - Mrs. Sophie WEIGERT entered into rest at her home in Farmington, March 18, 1936, 13 days after her husband, Edward J. WEIGERT, passed away. She is survived by four sons, Herman, Carl, Arthur and Louis; two brothers, Fred and John MARTZ of Macedon; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas QUINN of Macedon and Mrs. Albert BURMASTER of Rochester. Services were held from the home, Saturday at 1:30 and from St. John's church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Martin MULLER officiated and interment was made in North Farmington Cemetery.

+ Mrs. Lois HARGRAVE of California is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John YOUNGS.

+ Charles FRENCH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl FRENCH, is very ill in the Memorial hospital, Canandaigua.

+ Richard TUTTLE Sr., who has been very ill at his home at Tuttle's Corners, is much improved.

+ Dr. O. J. MASON and Walter GARDNER were guests at a dinner meeting of the Ontario County Medical Society held at the Wenna Kenna Tea Room, Canandaigua Lake, Thursday evening.

+ Mrs. William DEYS of Palmyra has been here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond DE MAY, for the past week.

+ Raymond DE MAY was removed to the Memorial Hospital, Canandaigua, Saturday evening, for treatment of injuries he received on Wednesday while caring for a bull which attacked him. He is suffering from internal injuries.

+ Mrs. Harry REDINGTON has returned from New York where she represented the Friends church as the treasurer at the Yearly meeting over the weekend. Mrs. REDINGTON was recently appointed a member of the Permanent Board of the New York Yearly meeting of Friends for a term of five years.

Mrs. John BURNS (Bridget) died Wednesday morning at her home in Farmington after a lingering illness of heart disease. She leaves a husband and four sons (Garrett, Patrick, Edward & John).

Miss Miriam Sheldon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Sheldon, and James Padgham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert H. Padgham, all of Farmington, were married, Friday afternoon, in Farmington Friends church, the Rev. Arthur W. Hammond, pastor, performing the ceremony in the presence of a large number of guests.

The bride, who was attended by her sister, Miss Marjorie Sheldon, wore a gown of white satin, entrain with a half length veil caught with yellow rosebuds. She wore silver slippers and carried an arm bouquet of white rose buds.

Her bridesmaid was in dark blue and white all over embroidery, with a blue toque to match, and carried an arm bouquet of yellow rose buds. Clarence Padgham was his brother's best man. Carol Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Park Baker, was flower girl, and wore a gown of aqua. She carried a basket of yellow roses and gypsophilia. Ushers were Leonard Padgham, Herbert Allen, Gardner and Floyd Sheldon. Myrle Baker presided at the organ. About 100 persons attended the reception held at the bride's home.

Immediately following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Padgham are on a motor trip to Albany, Saratoga Springs and Lake Placid. On their return they will reside in Farmington.

Durfee H. Randall, a well known farmer, passed away, Friday January 7, 1938, at his home in Farmington, where he had lived for many years. He was 76 years of age, and had been an invalid for quite a number of years. The surviving relatives are the widow and two brothers, Herbert and John, both of Farmington.

GARDNER - Mrs. Clara E. GARDNER, wife of Charles H. GARDNER, passed away Monday, January 10, 1938, at their home in Farmington. Besides the husband, she leaves a son, Charles R. GARDNER; a daughter, Mrs. Grace L. GREENE; five granddaughters; three grandsons, a great grand daughter and a great grandson. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Friends Church in Farmington, Thursday afternoon.

RANDALL - The funeral of Orrin James Randall who died Friday, at the age of 65 years, following an illness of a few weeks, was held from his late home, Monday afternoon, with the Rev. L. L. Swarthout, pastor of the Baptist church in Manchester, officiating. Burial was made in South Farmington. Mr. Randall leaves his wife, one son, Earl, and two daughters, Sybil G. and Dorothy S. Randall, also one brother, Harvey, all of Farmington.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert H. PADGHAM and Mr. and Mrs. Norman NORRIS were weekend guests of their nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Ben VAN WIE, at Schenevus.

+ Florence GARDNER of Rochester, visited her father & mother, Supervisor and Mrs. Oscar B. GARDNER, over the weekend.

+ Mr. and Mrs. William DEYS of Palmyra, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond DE MAY, Sunday.

+ John ROBBINS, who has been confined to memorial hospital, has returned to his home and is able to be out again.

+ Mrs. C. B. BARDNER spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter STERNMAN at Chapin. Mrs. STEARMAN who has been very ill, is much improved.

On Monday the 18th she attended a birthday party for her daughter at the home of her son, I. B. Estes. On Thanksgiving day she and her family entertained at dinner in their home, and on Sunday she enjoyed a trip to Geneseo. At 7 15 Monday morning she suffered a shock, and at 12:15 she passed away.

Leonora Smith was born Dec 23, 1850 at Ingleside, the Smith homestead farm in Farmington, which is now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loomis Jr, the family of which Mrs. Loomis is also a descendant came here in Pioneer days, and the plaster mill was originally owned by Mrs. Estes grandfather, as was the present Theodore Conover farm.

Her parents John Harvey Smith and Mary Jane Ferguson Smith, having died while she was still a small child. She lived for a time with an aunt in Syracuse, where she later attended the Keeble School.

She later made her home with an uncle, I. B. Smith in Canandaigua, and was married to Steven Estes who was at that time a conductor on the Auburn Branch of the NY Central of which his uncle, William Lapham was the Superintendent. Mr. Estes later entered the insurance business occupying an office in the Walling Block. Mr. Estes died March 24, 1886. Always very alert and much interested in people and events, Mrs. Estes thoroughly enjoyed life.

She had a natural talent for painting, which was developed through instruction and enabled her to produce many beautiful pictures. Her son Stuart R. was also with her in her home.

Surviving relatives are, the daughter and two sons, Miss Leonora M. Estes, I. B. and Stuart Estes, all of Victor. A daughter Mrs. Alice Estes Tyson died in Fla. In 1926. Member of St. Paul's Universalist Parish. Quaker Cemetery Farmington.

OBITUARY CROWLEY

Michael C. Crowley, of Brownsville, in the town of Farmington, died at the home of his son, Arthur, in Macedon, Saturday, February 8, 1941.
Mr. Crowley who was 85 years old in January, made a practice of walking from his home to Victor village once a week up to eight weeks ago, when he was stricken with paralysis and was taken to the home of his son. He sold farm implements for many years, and was well known throughout this area.
The surviving relatives are eight sons, Clement, Mt. Morris, Leo and John, Rochester, Charles, Lockport, Francis, Fairport, James, Victor, Arthur, Macedon, Albert, Shortsville, three daughters, Mrs. Earl Broderick, Victor, Mrs. Julia Tobin, East Bloomfield, Mrs. Daniel MacMillan, Huntington, two brothers, James and Dennis, Duluth, Minn, 40 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Crowley died seven years ago, and a son, Howard was killed in a traffic accident six years ago. Funeral services took place at St. Patrick's church in Victor, Tuesday morning. Six sons were the bearers. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.

REED - Suddenly, at his home at Farmington, N. Y., William E. REED, Friday, Dec. 26, 1941. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four daughters, Mrs. Henry ROTHFUSS, Mrs. Harry WEATHERLOW, both of Penfield; Mrs. Howard SPANGANBERG; Mrs. J. B. ELLSWORTH, both of Palmyra; four sisters, Mrs. Byron LAPHAM, Mrs. Martha HOAG, Mrs. Myrna KINGSLEY, of Macedon; Mrs. Ruth OTTLEY of Stanley,
N. Y. and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services from his late home at Farmington, Monday, Dec. 29, at 2:30 p.m. Interment in North Farmington Cemetery. Arrangements by Payne.

Re-election to the office of Justice of the Peace in the Town of Farmington at the recent election finds Mark C. Gourlay, Republican, nearing the end of his 28th year and ready to start on his 29th year in that capacity. All GOP nominees were victorious in Farmington.

RODENBERGER - Entered into rest at his home in Macedon, N. Y., Sunday morning, Dec. 19, 1943, E. M. RODENBERGER, M. D., aged 83 years. He is survived by one daughter, Beth E. RODENBERGER. Funeral services from the home Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 3:00 p.m. Burial in Farmington Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Herendeen, Farmington, observed their 50th wedding anniversary, Sunday, with a family gathering in their home. They were married in the Zion Episcopal church, Palmyra, January 30, 1894. Mrs. Herendeen being the former Miss Minnie M. Gaylord of Egypt.

The couple recalled that on their wedding day the snow banks were higher than the fences. The temperature was so low that one on the guests arrived with badly frozen ears. Due to the storm 40 of the wedding guests were compelled to remain overnight at the home of the bridegroom, where the wedding reception was held.

OBITUARY - LOOMIS - A life that has encompassed much in a brief span of years, came to the close of its earthly chapter on February 9, 1945, when Robert True LOOMIS, died at Strong Memorial hospital in Rochester, where he had been a patient since January 29th, 1945, suffering from nephritis. Bob was born in Farmington, July 23, 1921, the younger of the two sons of Leslie O. LOOMIS Jr., and Fannie True LOOMIS. He was graduated from Victor High School in 1939 and at the time of his death, was a Senior at Colgate University, where he would have been graduated this coming June. At Colgate, he was a member of Sigma Ne fraternity, secretary of the Colgate Christian Association and a member of the Varsity soccer team.

Throughout his life, Bob entered enthusiastically into the interests of companions of approximately his own age, but was also equally companionable and helpful with older persons and those younger than himself. He loved humanity, regardless of age, race or creed and through his warm fellowship his own live and the lives of those about him were enriched. Barred by his physical condition from the fulfillment of his earnest desire to serve his country in the armed forces, he cheerfully and courageously carried on at college, and served through being a kind and helpful friend to the many Navy students enrolled there. It has been truthfully said of him " He left a trail of cheerfulness and happiness behind him." The value to others of the young man's presence in college almost to the end of his life, is expressed in a letter to Mr. and Mrs. LOOMIS, from W. Emerson RECK, teacher of Journalism at Colgate, who wrote: " I know that no words of mine cal alleviate your loss, but I do want you to know that Rob was to my mind, one of the finest boys we had. He was one of my students this semester and I found him earnest and conscientious even in the face of his physical sufferings. At Colgate, we shall remember him for his qualities of character, not the least of which was the ability to make life happier for others; even in his own darkest moments, he never seemed to loose that ability. "

Besides his parents, Bob is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Francis E. HENEHAN and Mary Lee LOOMIS, both of Victor; by a brother, Leslie G. LOOMIS III of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and his grandmother, Mrs. Leslie G. LOOMIS of Rochester. Funeral services were held at the family home, Ingleside, in Farmington, February 12, conducted by the Rev. Lee S. HILL, pastor of the Victor Presbyterian Church, of which, Bob was a member. A large delegation of Colgate college mates attended the services bringing beautiful floral tributes as a further expression of love for their associate and sympathy for his family. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Farmington.

OBITUARY - GOURLAY - Eli M. GOURLAY, a well known resident of Farmington, died on March 16, 1946, after a brief illness. He had been at his gasoline station at Dead Man's Curve, on Thursday, as usual, but suffered a stroke that evening and passed away on Saturday. He was in his 79th year.

Mr. GOURLAY came with his parents from Glens Falls to this area, when a boy and after living for brief periods in Fairport and East Bloomfield, they located in Farmington, which was his home during the greater part of his life. He was a carpenter, and for many years he was in charge of carpentry at the Victor insulator plant. for a number of hears he had conducted a filling station.

The surviving relatives are his wife, Minnie; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer VER PLANCK of Irondequoit; two sons, Stuart of Rochester and Norman GOURLAY of Farmington, and one brother, Mark GOURLAY, Farmington.

Julius F. Aldrich died at the home of his son, Nathan L. Aldrich, in Farmington, Thursday, January 16, 1947. Mr. Aldrich was 93 years of age on January 2, and was the oldest person in the town.

A lineal descendant of the immigrants, George Aldrich and Catherine Seald Aldrich, who came to America from England in 1630, Mr. Aldrich had a long line of New England ancestors. He was a great great grandson of Nathan Aldrich, the pioneer who helped blaze the trail to Farmington in 1789, and who sowed the first wheat in the new settlement, and also built the first frame house in Farmington.

Julius Aldrich was born in the Town of Manchester, January 2, 1854, the son of Nathan L. and Lydia Herendeen Aldrich, and moved to Farmington when five years old.

A skilled mechanic, he was a wagon and cabinet maker for a number of years, but was engaged in farming the major portion of his life. He was twice married, first to Abbie Smith, a descendant of one of the oldest families of the town. She died in 1882 and he married Eva King of Manchester. She was the mother of his children, and died October 24, 1937.

Funeral services were held at his late home January 18, with Rev. Robert Rumsey of the Farmington Friends church officiating. Burial was made in South Farmington Cemetery.

He is survived by three sons, Clarence of Palmyra, Floyd of Red Creek, and Nathan Lee of Farmington, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Miss Jane E. Herendeen, 77, Farmington, died at Thompson hospital, Monday evening after a brief illness. Miss Herendeen who suffered from a coronary weakness was brought to the hospital last Wednesday and her condition failed to improve.

Miss Herendeen was a member of one of Farmington's and the county's oldest families. She resided in the Herendeen homestead which dates to 1814, and she kept it much the way it had been through the years.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at St. John's church in Canandaigua with Rev. Robert C. Dunn, rector of the church, officiating. Interment will be in Friends cemetery in Farmington where five generations of her family are buried.

Born in Farmington, she was the daughter of James W. and Mary Alice Browning Herendeen. She was a graduate of Brockport Normal school, and of Harvard University. For many years she was a teacher of speech and dramatic art at Vassar, Hunter and Brooklyn colleges.

Following her retirement as assistant professor of speech at Brooklyn college several years ago, Miss Herendeen was the author in 1946 of a creative textbook for oral interpretation classes. "Speech Quality and years of study in teaching this art to college students. She had spent her winters in Canandaigua and the South since her retirement and maintained her home in Farmington, a cobblestone mansion built by her great grandfather, one of the first Quakers to settle in that community. Miss Herendeen was a member of St. John's Episcopal church, this city.

Last Rites Today for Dr. O. J. MASON - Funeral services for Dr. Orville J. MASON, 87, Farmington, who died Wednesday morning in Canandaigua Health Home, will be held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. BRACE, this Friday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Dr. H. L. GAYLORD will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. MASON was a well known retired physician - and had been health officer for the town of Farmington for 45 years. He was born in Rodman, Jefferson county. He was graduated from Columbia Medical College, Washington, DC in 1899 and was licensed to practice in New York State in 1901. After practicing for six months in Canandaigua, he went to Farmington. After his graduation from medical school, Dr. MASON married Minnie BRACE of Canandaigua who died some years ago. Three years later, he married Emma GIDDINGS, who died in 1944. No near relatives survive.

+ Miss Jean DAVIS accompanied by her aunt and cousin, Mrs. Anson TUTTLE and daughter, Norma, enjoyed a motor trip to Erie, Pa., where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. TUTTLE'S brother, Ermil KYTE and his daughter, Mrs. Carl NORDEBURG and family, the weekend of October 8.

+ J. R. DELANEY of Syracuse was a recent visitor at the home of his sister, Mrs. Henry DURKIN and Mr. DURKIN.

+ Sunday guests at a family gathering on Sunday, October 9, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert KREGER Sr., in honor of the latter's birthday on October 13, were Mr. and Mrs. Nelson ALLEN and children of this town, Mr. and Mrs. Henry FELCZAK, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert KREGOR Jr., of Rochester, Mr. and Mrs. Francis GRATTAN of Scottsville and their families. Mr. and Mrs. GRATTAN showed off with parental pride their new baby girl, Linda Marie.

+ Mrs. Henry DURKIN received word of the death of her cousin, Mrs. Katherine LOWRY of Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on September 22. Mrs. DURKIN spent a pleasant vacation with Mrs. LOWRY last summer.

+ Mr. and Mrs. William H. SMITH and daughter, Toni and son, Richard, of Prairie road, motored to "Big Flats" to visit Mrs. SMITH'S sister, Mrs. Ernest DICKINSON and Mr. DICKINSON and family, on Saturday, Oct 8.

+ Mr. and Mrs. John T. POWER Sr., Mr. and Mrs. John T. POWER Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond COLVER attended a hot dog roast at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard DE MAY, recently.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Francis MC GARRY motored to Sanborn, Friday and enjoyed a pleasant day with Mr. and Mrs. Robert SCHIMSCHACK. Mr. MC GARY and Mr. SCHIMSCHACK were ship mates in the United States Navy while in service.

+ Dr. and Mrs. Myron D. LIPES of Watervilet, were weekend guests of Mrs. LIPE'S sister, Mrs. Norman NORRIS and Mr. NORRIS.

+ Mrs. Minnie MC CLOSKEY, county president of the WCTU, is recuperating satisfactorily from here recent operation. She is at the home of her sister, Mrs. Herbert CRIPPEN in Scottsville.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Norman NORRIS had as recent overnight guests, Mrs. NORRIS' niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey BROWN and two of the latter's friends, all of Troy.

+ Mrs. Charles R. GARDNER with her daughter, Mrs. Howard DE LANO, and her granddaughter, Diana Lee, were recent guests of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron CHRISTOPHER and children, Vivian and David, at their home in Seneca Falls.

+ Richard E. MOORE who had been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred MOORE Sr., and family, has returned to his duties at the Coast Guard Cutter Mackinac at Brooklyn. His wife is remaining at the MOORE home for several days longer.

+ Mrs. Charles R. GARDNER and daughter, Mrs. Howard DE LANO and Diana Lee, visited Mrs. GARDNER'S father, Walter STEARNMAN, Saturday, who is at present staying with his other daughter, Mrs. Ralph HASTINGS in Geneva. Mr. STEARMAN'S health continues rather poor.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Fred POPENHUSEN called on Mr. and Mrs. Ralph COLE and Mrs. Sarah BETZ in Fairport, Sunday.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Roy WILSON of Rochester were Sunday guests of Mrs. WILSON'S parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert KREGER.

+ Mr. and Mrs. ELDRIDGE of Macedon were Sunday guests of their daughter, Mrs. Karl POPENHUSEN and Mr. POPENHUSEN and children, Glenn and Jean.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. GARDNER were pleasantly surprised Sunday by a visit from their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. John OFFICE and sister, Mrs. RIPPEY of Hall; also their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Luther SMITH and daughter, Miss Hazel BIRD, of Hopewell.

FARMINGTON   - Miss Broderick Honor Guest at Shower

Mrs. Cecil Kelly and daughter, Doreen, and Mrs. Ruby Crowley, Rochester, entertained Sunday afternoon at a personal shower on the lawn of the Kelly home in Macedon, in honor of Miss Shirley Broderick, whose marriage to Edward Erdle of Canandaigua will take place in September. Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Crowley are aunts of Miss Broderick, who received many beautiful gifts. Twenty-five guests attended from East Rochester, Rochester, Churchville, Geneva, Victor, Canandaigua, Macedon and Farmington.

Mrs. Franc GOURLAY, 88, widow of Mark C. GOURLAY, Farmington, died this morning May 19, 1954, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. Leslie GIFFORD, Canandaigua RD 4, with whom she had made her home since March.

Born in the town of Canandaigua, May 8, 1866, she was the daughter of the late Orrin and Amanda OUTHHOUSE. She was married 63 years ago, June 10, to Mr. GOURLAY, and resided all of her married life in Farmington. He died November 28, 1945.

Survivors are three daughters and a son, Mrs. Orrene GIFFORD, and Mrs. Dale C. Bessie LESTER, Canandaigua, Mrs. Elbert W. Ethel GARLOCK, and Howard GOURLAY, Victor, also six grandchildren. Interment in Boughton Hill Cemetery, Victor.

Mrs. Franc GOURLAY of Farmington died Wednesday, May 19, 1954. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Leslie GIFFORD, and Mrs. Dale LESTER, of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Elbert GARLOCK of Victor, a son Howard of Farmington, and six grandchildren.

The death of Thomas BRODERICK at the age of 91, brought a sense of sorrow and regret to the hearts of the friends and neighbors with whom he had mingled for years in friendly association. Mr. BRODERICK was born in Farmington and had lived here all his life, except for a few recent years, when he went to Rochester to make his home with his son, Joseph BRODERICK. He attended District School No. 7. From the large class which Mr. BRODERICK attended, only two known school mates survive. They are James CURRAN, who is almost 90 years of aged and Sunderland P. GARDNER, both life long residents of Farmington. A few years ago, Mr. CURRAN moved to Egypt, NY, to make his permanent home with a niece and her family.

Sunderland P. GARDNER, who is in his 88th year, cherished fond memories of the boyhood days when he was a schoolmate of Mr. BRODERICK and of the beautiful years of friendship that followed. Mr. BRODERICK helped in the building of the Lehigh Valley railroad, in this part of New York state, and after its completion, he continued working for the company in various capacities. He worked long and faithfully in the employ of the Lehigh Valley Railroad and was section foreman at the time of his retirement. Mr. BRODERICK was a man of noble characteristics and was highly esteemed by young and old. His loyalty to friendships and his infinite kindness will always be remembered by all, especially in Farmington, where he spent almost all of his long life. By Theresa M. GARDNER.

VAN LARE Rites Are Held - Farmington - John VAN LARE, aged 84, died at his home in Farmington, NY, Sunday, April 29. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine; three daughters, Sarah of Rochester, Mabel and Gertrude Isaac VAN LARE of Rochester, several nieces and nephews. Funeral was held on May 2, from his late home with burial in Oakwood cemetery, Penfield.

Mr. and Mrs. VAN CAESEELE Note 40th Anniversary - Farmington - Mr. and Mrs. August VAN CAESEELE celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at a reception for relatives and close friends, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. VAN CAESEELE were untied in marriage in Our Lady of Victory Church., Pleasant street. Rochester, on July 8, 1916. They are the parents of three children, Mrs. Eugene BRADY, Mrs. Richard KONDOLF of Rochester and Richard VAN CAESEELE of West Islip, Long Island, also five grandchildren.

Miss Evelyn Mae Padgham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Padgham, of Farmington, and Harry Thomas Sadler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sadler, of Mendon, were married on Saturday afternoon, June 29, 1957, at 3 o'clock in Farmington Friends Church.

Before an altar beautifully decorated with ferns and Madonna Lillies, the Rev. Richard W. Faux, pastor of the church, received their vows and performed the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white flocked nylon over white taffeta fashioned with full ankle length skirt and fitted bodice. A short jacket finished with white velvet ribbon, meeting in the back with a tailored bow at the end of a row of buttons accented an empress waistline. The cap sleeves and round neckline were finished with scallops. She wore elbow length mitts of matching material. Her waist length veil was held by a band of artificial white roses and small blossoms.

He was born in the town of Macedon, N. Y., the only child of James and Carrie Haynes Padgham. Except for a few years when he was a young boy and he lived in Macedon, his entire life was spent in the town of Farmington where for many years he was looked upon as a leader in many activities. His early education was acquired in District No. 12 Farmington and in 1909 he was graduated from Macedon Academy. For several years he was a teacher in District No. 2 and 12 in Farmington.

He was a faithful attendant of the Farmington Friends' Meeting and Sunday School, having served as Superintendent of the Sunday school and teacher of the Padgham Class for many years. He married Carrie Briggs Allen on June 15, 1904, and they spent their entire married life in Farmington.

A member of Farmington Grange for more than 60 years, he had held many offices of trust in the organization. He was also a member of Ontario County Pomona Grange, New York State and National Grange. Being a staunch Republican he had over a period of years been elected and served the town of Farmington as its Collector, Clerk, and Supervisor. In 1920 he became an agent for the G. L. F., and served in that capacity for many years. In 1924 he was elected director of the Ontario County Patrons' Fire Relief Association, and held that office to the present time. He had also been their treasurer, and for 18 and one half years had been secretary manager of the association and was a past president of the New York Central Organization of Mutual Insurance

He was a member of past Master of Macedon Lodge F. and A. M. No. 665, also past D. D. G. M. of Wayne district. He was a member of Eureka Chapter No. 209 O. E. S. and served as patron for 15 years, and also was a D. G. L. of Wayne District.

He leaves his wife, Carrie Allen Padgham, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Jennie Bowerman of Indian Lake, N. Y., and Mrs. Lloyd Betty Bowerman, Victor, N. Y., three sons, Leonard of Ontario, N. Y., James of Farmington, and Clarence of Chenango Bridge, N. Y. Seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, November 7 at the Payne

FARMINGTON - Earl C. Randall, 69, a well known farmer who lived on Herendeen Road, died yesterday at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Arthur R. Schaefer Funeral Home on W. Main Street, Shortsville.

Norman GOURLAY, 58, former resident of the town of Farmington, died Saturday in Newark after an illness of several years. He was the son of the late Eli and Minnie Sadler GOURLAY. He leaves a brother, Stuart of Southern Pines, NC, and a sister. Mrs. Elmer VER PLANK of Rochester. A funeral service will be at the convenience of the family, with burial at Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville. There was no prior calling hours.

Farmington - Norman GOURLAY, a former Farmington resident, died on Saturday, February 19, in Newark. He had been ill for several years.

Miss Randall had been an inspector at Eastman Kodak until her retirement in 1970. She was a member of the Farmington Friends Church and the Macedon O.E.S.

She is survived by her mother, Vera, and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Powers of Shortsville Road.

Mrs. Randall was a lifelong resident of the Shortsville - Farmington area and for the past several years she had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Powers of Shortsville.
