DIED - RYAN - Mrs. Anna RYAN died Thursday afternoon, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Agnes SAUERTEIG, 617 Linden street. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. SAUERTEIG and Mrs.. Teresa ____, one son, William H. RYAN, of Victor, NY; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The funeral will take place Sunday morning at St Patrick's Church, Victor, NY. Interment at Victor, NY, time to be announced later.

KEEFE - Mrs. Ellen KEEFE, aged 86, for many years a highly respected resident of Victor, died Saturday, January 15th, at her home on Church street in this village. Mrs. KEEFE was born in the city of Cork, Ireland, June 2, 1841 and came to this country at the age of 19, first locating in Farmington, and after her marriage, in this town. she is survived by seven sons, Rev. E. J. KEEFE of Waverly, South Dakota; Pierce, Michael, William, David, Thomas and John KEEFE all of Victor and by a sister, Mrs. Mary LUCY of Victor. The funeral was held on Monday morning at St. Patrick's church, Rev. J. W.E. KELLY officiating. Rev. P. A. NEVILLE of East Bloomfield was in the sanctuary. Rev. Father KEEFE visited the mother on January 5th and 6th, but because of storm conditions, was unable to attend the funeral.
COUGHLIN - Miss Margaret COUGHLIN, aged 65 years, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Mary KENNEY, at Clifton Springs on Monday, January 17th. Besides her sister, she leaves three brothers, Thomas and Patrick of Rochester and and John of Clifton Springs. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock from St. Patrick's church in Victor. Burial ws made in St. Patrick's cemetery.
+ A son, William T. WALLACE Jr., was born to Mr. and Mrs. William T. WALLACE of Rochester on Thursday, January 20th.
+ Mrs. Henry PADGHAM, who has been ill for several weeks, was taken to Genesee Hospital in Rochester Thursday, for observation and treatment.
+ Mrs. George H. WOOD, who has been ill for two weeks with pneumonia in a hospital in Cambridge, NY, where she teaches, is now improving satisfactorily. Mr. WOOD returned to Victor, Wednesday evening, after having been with his wife for 10 days.
+ Miss Jennie CROOKER has returned to her home in Canandaigua, after visiting her sister, Mrs. A. T. BENNETT and family.
+ W. A. HIGINBOTHAM has been re-elected as a director of the Canandaigua National Bank, and has also been elected chairman of the board of directors.
+ Mrs. Johanna BARRY and Miss Margaret BARRY returned from New York, Sunday. Mrs. James FEENEY, formerly the Miss Theresa BARRY, is slowly improving in health in a New York hospital, following an alarming illness of several weeks duration.

+ Obituary - SIMONDS - Charles Lewis SIMONDS, son of the late Albert and Caroline SIMONDS, died at his home on Maple avenue, Friday night, February 25th. He had been in poor health for several months, suffering from heart trouble, but throughout his illness had been about his home nad had occasionally made a brief visit to the "Old Stone Store", with which he had been identified for over 50 years. Mr. SIMONDS was born in Victor, his father having been associated with the mercantile business here since about 1835. He received his education in the Victor school, the Brockport Normal School and the Rochester Business College. For 47 years Mr. SIMONDS had been a member of the First Presbyterian church and for 45 years he had been a elder in the church. He was a quiet, upright, kindly citizen and stood high in the esteem of his fellowmen.
On November 26, 1879, Mr. SIMONDS was married to Miss Bertha FRENCH of Victor, who survives him. The other surviving relatives are 3 daughters, Mrs. Lucile S. MEDCALF of Rochester, Olive F. SIMONDS and Mrs. Doris S. BENNETT of Victor; two sons, Warren F. of Canandaigua and Russell F. of Victor; seven grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary TURNER, who is now in Florida.
Funeral services were held at the family residence at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon, Rev. F. W. HILL of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Elders of the church were the bearers. Interment was made in Boughton Hill cemetery.
+ Carl NEMITZ, who is an employee of The Victor Herald office, was surprised at his home in Mendon, Friday evening, February 25th, by a party of relatives and friends, who came to help him celebrate his 28th birthday. Fifty five were present. Dancing, games and cards were the amusement features of the evening. Music was furnished by August STEFFENHAGEN, who played an accordion. Refreshments were served. Everyone had a good time.
+ Mrs. Frank MC DONALD of Holcomb entertained the Jolly Dozen at luncheon and cards, Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Eugene WILKINSON and Mrs. William FARRELL of Holcomb won the honors. Mrs. Charles GREGORY entertained the Jolly Dozen at supper and cards on Thursday evening of last week. Mrs. WILKINSON and Mrs. FARRELL won the honors that afternoon.
+ Mrs. Theda Munson WHEELER, wife of Oscar WHEELER of Holcomb, died at Oak Mont Sanatorium, March 1st, after a 3 years illness. She was born in England, 53 years ago, the daughter of Roswell C. and Cornelia Spencer MUNSON, who returned later to their farm in East Bloomfield. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Fred BANKER of Rochester and a brother, Harlow MUNSON of Sarasota, Florida. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel MC WILLIAMS, Thursday afternoon. Burial was made at East Bloomfield.

Obituary - Charles MURRELL of Manchester, well known in this section as the leader of MURRELL'S orchestra; died in Memorial hospital in Canandaigua, Friday, March 4, of pneumonia. He was born in East Bloomfield, September 1, 1878, son of Elmer and Elinor Eddy MURRELL. He had lived in Manchester for 18 years. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, a son and his mother and a brother. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Manchester, Sunday, and burial was made in Manchester.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Lindley GARDNER and family spent Saturday afternoon in Palmyra.
+ Mrs. LOWNSBURY, the mother of Mrs. George FOX, is very ill at the home of Mrs. FOX.
+ Albert COTTON of Canandaigua has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. COTTON.
+ Irving MARTZ, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John MARTZ, has been very ill at their home with bronchial pneumonia.
+ Mrs. Victoria RAPPLEE, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Harriet MOTT, returned to her home in Brockport, Monday.
+ Mrs. Joseph GREENE, Mrs. James NOLAN and Mr. and Mrs. C. R. GARDNER attended Pomona Grange in Canandaigua on Tuesday.
+ Ellery ALLEN returned home on Sunday, after spending the winter months with his son, Dr. George ALLEN and family, at Clyde.
+ Charles R. GARDNER attended the funeral services for Charles MURRELL at the Baptist church in Manchester, on Sunday afternoon.
+ Eska FOX, who has been ill with a tonsil trouble, is much improved and expects soon to resume her duties at Gleason's in Rochester.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Harry REDDINGTON visited their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen BARNSDALE, at Macedon Center on Sunday evening.
+ Mr. and Mrs. James NOLAN and daughter, Rita, were guests on Sunday of Mrs. NOLAN'S sister, Mrs. Hannah BLOOMFIELD, at Honeoye.
+ Mr. George Lyman VAN VOORHIS, supervisor of the town of Victor from March 1901 through 1905 and sheriff of Ontario county from 1906 to 1909, died at his home, No. 586 Melville street, Rochester, Sunday afternoon, March 6th. He was born in Charleston, Mich., April 21, 1871 and was very young when his parents, Lyman and Elizabeth Field VAN VOORHIS, returned to New York State. He attended Victor High school, the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary at Lima and the Brockport Normal school. Previous to his election as sheriff, he taught school and worked on the farm during the summer months. Mr. VAN VOORHIS was what politicians call a great "vote-getter", being possessed of a genial and winning personality. Few men o the town ever attained greater popularity than he.
Mr. VAN VOORHIS ws married at Mendon, October 20, 1896 to Miss Vernie B. STRONG. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Spencer L., Leslie C. and Harold O. VAN VOORHIS, and a brother, Howard VAN VOORHIS, all of Rochester; a sister, Mrs. S. Viola JOHNSON of Battle Creek, Mich., and a grandchild. He was a member of Milnor Lodge F & A M of Victor. Funeral services were held at the family residence at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made in Boughton Hill cemetery.

Obituary - CZADZECK - Entered into rest after a long illness, J. Henry CZADZECK, Saturday morning, March 12th at his home in Victor. He was born in Germany, September 5, 1859. He is survived by 5 sons, William, Edward, Lewis and Henry of Victor and Carl of Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Otto HOLT of Kankakee, Ill., Mrs. Stuart ERNST of Rochester and Mrs. Andrew THIEL of Victor; two sisters, Mrs. EGGERT of Rochester and a sister in Germany. The funeral services were held at the residence and St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Mr. TRAEBERT, pastor of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rochester, officiating. Burial was made in Boughton Hill cemetery.

Court - Harry R. BEMENT, 29, of Victor, pleaded guilty to adultery in county court Monday, and was given a suspended sentence of 6 months in jail on condition he pay $5 a week toward the support of a child born to a Geneva girl. He was also placed on probation for two years.

Little GUINAN Girl Killed by Lightning Saturday Afternoon
Jean Louise GUINAN, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Leo GUINAN of Mertensia, was instantly killed, last Saturday afternoon, when a bolt of lightening out of a seemingly clear sky struck her as she played in a swing at her home on Bluebell Island farm. Jean was born October 18, 1921. she is survived by her parents, James Leo and Edith Bender GUINAN; a brother, James, and a sister, Marie, and her two grandmothers, Mrs. Louise BENDER and Mrs. Mary GUINAN. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's church in this village. The Angels' Mass was sung by the pastor, Rev. J. W. E. KELLY. The honorary bearers were four cousins of the little girl, Lillian, Anna and Mary GUINAN and Mary KEEFE. The active bearers were also cousins and were Robert and Coyne O'BRIEN and Maurice and Laurence KEEFE. Interment was made in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery on High street. (St Patrick's Cemetery).

Miss Meryl VanDenbergh, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ray C. VanDenbergh of Rochester, formerly of Victor, and
granddaughter of Mrs. Elvira VanDenbergh of this
village, and Robert Milton Hanley, son of Mr.
and Mrs. W. E. Hanley of Canandaigua, were married in Rochester, on
Friday, September 2d. Mr. and Mrs. Hanley are
residing at 469 Meigs Street, Rochester. (They renewed their vows,
September 2, 1965, and celebrated their 50th anniversary at St. Mary's Church
in Canandaigua, NY, September 2, 1977. Mother wore the same 50 year old dried
corsage at the 50th anniversary from their wedding in 1927.)
