Obituaries:
+ BAKER - (cut off) .... February 16, 1933. Mrs. BAKER (Kathryn) died in the Barber hospital in Lyons shortly after the automobile she was driving ran wild and crushed into a barn and telephone pole between Red Creek and Wolcott, earlier in the evening. Her sister, Mrs. Clarence WEGLEY of East Rochester, and Mrs. WEGLEY's son, John, who were passengers in car, both escaped with minor injuries. According to a police report, the trio were returning from a trip to Fulton, when Mrs. BAKER swerved her machine off the highway to avoid hitting a farmer who was turning his machine off the highway into his barn. Mrs. BAKER'S husband, John BAKER, a sand blaster, died of Silicosis, June 15, 1931.
Preceding the services here, funeral services for Mrs. BAKER were held at the home of her mother, Mrs. Louise CASSARETTI, at Bushnell's Basin. Besides her mother and sister, she leaves a son, Jackie, 2; a daughter, Merilyn Jean, 6; another sister, Miss Loretta FINEAR of 225 Meigs street, Rochester and three brothers, John FINEAR of Victor, Edward C. FINEAR of Buffalo and Earl FINEAR of Rochester. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.
+ COUGHLIN - Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church in this village, Saturday morning for John COUGHLIN, a former resident who passed away Thursday, February 16th. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary KENNEY of Coonsville and by two nieces and three nephews. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.

+ Mrs. Ida M. PARMELE is in Lyons, visiting her nephew and his family.
+ Mrs. Charlotte WELLS has been spending several days with her brothers, Charles HUMPHREY and Mrs. HUMPHREY in Canandaigua.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Karl VANDEBROOKE are spending a few days with Mr. VANDEBROOKE'S brother, Clinton BROOKS, at the home of Mrs. DANA in Avon.
+ J. J. SUGDEN, who is in Northern New York on a business trip, telephoned from Malone to his family Wednesday & said it was very ice there.
+ Mrs. Donald J. PRESLER entertained Mrs. Chester ROBB of Newark and Miss Elinor BENTON of Phelps, last Friday, in honor of her guest Miss Edith QUACKENBUSH of Salamanca.
+ Miss Esther FERGUSON, student in the Eastman School of Music, underwent an operation for appendicitis, Wednesday, in a hospital in Rochester. She is reported to be in as good a condition as can be expected at this time.
+ Lester and Mildred HUTCHINSON of Sodus and Kenneth HUTCHINSON of Rochester have returned to their respective homes after having been here because of the illness and death of their uncle, Charles. J. LINCOLN. They formerly lived in Victor.
+ Mrs. Carl D. SMITH visited her mother, Mrs. M. A. HARRIS, in Perry, Sunday and Monday, making the trip to Perry with her sister, Miss Mildred I. HARRIS, of Rochester. Her sister and nephew, Mrs. J. J. GURNEY and Richard HARRIS, brought her home, Monday, coming around this way on the trip to their home in Buffalo after a visit with Mrs. HARRIS.
+ Roger and Luther GATES left Sunday for their northern home in Ontario, NY, after spending 3 months with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd GATES.
+ Herman FLYE and C. E. WILCOX have recently added screens to their porches, which make their places more attractive.
+ The golden wedding anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. W. S. WARREN as celebrated at their home on Walker Avenue, Feb. 21st. They were married at McGraw, NY.

+ Mrs. Freda E. SPATH of Champlain street, Rochester, announced the engagement of her daughter, Helen E., to William C. KAISER, son of Mr. and Mrs. William KAISER of Victor, at a bridge party given at her home on Friday evening. The wedding will take place early in September.
+ Mrs. L. G. LOOMIS and her daughter, Mrs. Robert Dudley COY, and Mrs. COYE'S children are expected to arrive from San Pedro, Calif., this (Friday) morning. They were unable to come with Mr. LOOMIS and MR. COYE because of the illness of Mrs. LOOMIS who is recovering from a recent operation.
+ FROST - William D. FROST, a former resident in Victor passed away at his home in Holley, Thursday, April 27, 1933, at the age of 66 years. Mr. FROST, who was one of the best known of Western New York dealers in farm produce, went from Victor in 1896 and purchased the BIDWELL farm in the Ridge Road in Orleans county. He was one of the pioneer growers of muck crops in that section. In 1911 he moved into Holley and became interested in the produce business which he was conducting up to the time of his death. Mr. FROST was president of the Board of Trustees of the Holley Presbyterian Church, president of the board of water commissioners, director of the State Exchange Bank of Holley, treasurer of the Holley Cold Storage Co., and a member of Murray Lodge F & AM. Besides his wife, Harriet Lovejoy FROST, he is survived by two daughters, Miss Edith FROST of Holley and Mrs. Florence EMERY of Victor; two brothers, Fred of Capoc, Mich., and Dewey of Canandaigua and a grandson. Private funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon and burial was made in Hillside cemetery.

+ Mrs. George W. BOUGHTON entertained at dinner last Saturday, for Miss Ruth C. EWER, whose birthday fell on Monday and for Frank T. ROWLEY whose natal anniversary was on Sunday. the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Luther MOYER of Canandaigua and Fred WHITE of Buffalo.
+ Miss Jane HILL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell HILL and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. HILL, is a member of the Class of 1933, of the Pontiac (Mich.) Senior High School. Handsome invitations to the commencement exercises have been received by some of the Victor friends.
+ Mr. and Mrs. James WALDORF and children moved Wednesday, from the WALDORF house on Maple avenue to Cohocton, where Mr. WALDORF is in charge of Larrow's buckwheat mills. Mirl WALDORF, who has been in charge of the Larrow's mills for several years, has gone to Penn Yan to manage the Birkett Mills.
+ Mrs. R. O. WHITNEY, Mrs. O. L. POLHEMUS, Mrs. Ralph W. SMITH and Mrs. Fred C. GREEN attended a luncheon given by Mrs. WHITNEY'S sister, Mrs. F. J. GARRISON, at her home in Rochester, Monday.
+ Mrs. W. B. GALLUP and her daughter and grandson, Mrs. Harold HUTCHENS and Harold Jr., of Rochester, are on their way home from Minneapolis by automobile and are expected to arrive here next Monday.
+ Miss Cora B. OSBORNE, who has been in Portland, Ore., for several months, and her niece, Miss Elizabeth OSBORNE, who joined her there, several weeks ago, plan to start for Victor, June 5th and are expected to arrive here on the 9th.
+ Mrs. George W. BOUGTON and W. J. HARSCH accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Luther MOYER of Canandaigua on a Sunday motor trip to Elbridge, where they were guests of Mrs. BOUGHTON'S cousin, Mrs. Ida PIERCE and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence WALL.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Francis MC CRONE of Niagara Falls, George MC CRONE of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Charles DAILEY of Pittsburgh, Mr. and Mrs. Milton MC MAHON of Fairport, Mr. and Mrs. John M. MC CARTHY and Fred MC CARTHY of Rochester, were among the out of town friends who attended the funeral of Edward MC MAHON, Tuesday morning.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Charles PERHAMUS and daughter of Caledonia, called on W. A. HIGINBOTHAM, one evening last week. They were accompanied by an uncle, John H. PERHAMUS of Brookline, near Boston, who was station agent at Fishers from about 1874 to 1884 and was also in the New York Central service in Canandaigua and other places hereabouts. He greatly enjoyed the visit with Mr. HIGINBOTHAM and made inquiry concerning many of his former friends and acquaintances here. Mr. PERHAMUS was with the New York Central until 1921, when he was retired because of age limit. Now, at the age of 82 years, hi is as sprightly as many persons form 65 to 70 years old and is able to enjoy the leisure that the years have brought to him.

+ Mr. and Mrs. J. J. GURNEY, Richard HARRIS and Howard CALDWELL, all of Buffalo, visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. SMITH at Canandaigua Lake, within the past few days. Mr. and Mrs. SMITH occupied their cottage there from Saturday until Wednesday morning, when they returned home.
+ Rev. and Mrs. Nelson L. LOBDELL, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. KILLAM, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. BOUGHTON, Mr. and Mrs. Linus C. BOUGHTON, Mrs. Ida M. PARMELE, Miss Lydia NORTH, Mrs. Mercy NORTH, Mrs. George W. BOUGHTON, Miss Alice E. GOODNOW, Mrs. Gulia WILBUR, Mrs. H. W. TORJE and F. E. COBB, attend the centennial meeting of the Ontario Association of Universalists and the centennial celebration of the Bristol Universalist church, at Bristol, Wednesday.
+ Benjamin F. PHILLIPS of East Bloomfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton PHILLIPS and known to many Victor people, left on the band special, Wednesday, for Chicago, on his way to park Falls, Wis., where he will be a superintendent in forestry at one of the government conservation camps. He is a student in Syracuse university. Mr. and Mrs. Royal S. COPELAND of Suffern, were Tuesday night guests at the PHILLIPS home. Mr. COPELAND, a son of United Stated Senator COPELAND of New York, is a fraternity brother of young Mr. PHILLIPS.

Matters About Town
+ A daughter was born, August 6th in a Rochester hospital to Mr. and Mrs. W. W. SIMONDS.
+ A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Abraham HENDRICKS at the Thompson memorial hospital in Canandaigua, August 16th.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Clare C. WOOLSTON and two children attended the CROSBY-WHEELER wedding in Ithaca, Wednesday.
+ Mrs. Frank A. EWER and daughter, Dorothy, left Tuesday to spend a few days with Mrs. Hale JOHNSON at Cayuga lake.
+ Margaret HAYES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William HAYES, was operated on for appendicitis at the Thompson Memorial hospital in Canandaigua, Tuesday, August 15th.
+ Mr. and Mrs. George W. HIGINBOTHAM and children, Paul and Phyllis, returned home Saturday, after having visited Mrs. HIGINBOTHAM'S father, the Rev. A. M. SPANGER, in Tyringham, Mass., and having spent a week at Harwich port on Cape Cod.
+ Mrs. A. T. BENNETT, who has been suffering from a rash and swelling which it was feared might prove to be erysipelas, went to the Strong Memorial hospital in Rochester, Tuesday for observation. It was decided that the trouble came from infection by weeds or plants, and Mrs. BENNETT went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur PULSE, in Rochester, to remain for a time.
+ Mrs. John E. MC CARTHY was badly cut, last Friday morning, when she slipped while passing the grade door in her home and her right arm shattered the glass door. Thirty stitches were required to close the cuts which she received. First aid was given her and the dressing of the wounds was completed at the Thompson Memorial hospital at Canandaigua. Mrs. MC CARTHY and two of her children are now with her mother, Mrs. Mary BURKE in Canandaigua, and the other two children are with relatives in Manchester. The injured arm in free from infection, and Mrs. MC CARTHY'S progress toward recovery is as rapid as could be expected.
+ The annual reunion of the REEVES family was held at the Earl WASHBURN farm home on the Mendon-Ionia road, last Sunday. A picnic dinner and sports were enjoyed.

+ Mrs. H. R. GILLIS and her brother, George GRINNELL of Farmington, visited two aged aunts, Mrs. Mark HOWARD and Mrs. Kate HOFFMAN in Fairville, Sunday.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. OLNEY and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis T. BOUGHTON left, Wednesday noon, for a visit to the Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago.
+ Mr. and Mrs. W. F. NEWMAN of Jarvis and their cousin, Mrs. W. B. BROWN of Fenwick Ontario, spent last week with Mrs. NEWMAN's sister, Mrs. John SCHRADER and family.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. SMITH spent Saturday night and Sunday with relatives in Buffalo, their visit being a surprise to Mrs. SMITH'S sister, Mrs. J. J. GURNEY, whose birthday was last Saturday.
+ Mrs. Carl D. SMITH was a guest of her sister, Miss Mildred I. HARRIS at dinner in Rochester, Wednesday evening and also at a presentation of "Tug Boat Annie" at the Rochester Theatre.
+ Rev. Norman REIBLING and Mrs. REIBLING with their son and daughter, Harvey and Sadie Lou, all of Campden, Ontario, spent Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry DAUM.
+ Rev. Yost BRANDT, pastor of the local Lutheran church, and his family have returned to their home in Pittsford, after having spent a 3 weeks vacation at Butterfield Lake, near Redwood, NY.
+ Charles HAWKINS who has been attending Summer School at Syracuse University, arrived here last Saturday, to spend the remainder of the vacation season with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. HAWKINS.
+ Allen HAWKINS, who has been taking a course of study in the Columbia University Summer school, is expected to arrive, Saturday, to spend the remainder of the summer vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. HAWKINS.
+ Mrs. C. E. COLLINS and daughter, Shirley, of Rochester, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. GILLIS and her sister, Mrs. O.E. KERSKE, over the weekend, while Mr. COLLINS was on a business trip to New York City, Binghamton and other points.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Thomas TISCHER and daughter, Helen, and Ralph MC CARTHY and daughter, Mary, motored Tuesday, to the Century of Progress Exposition.
+ Mrs. Monroe GARDINER of Warsaw is visiting her son, George M. GARDINER and family this week.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. GREEN, their nephew, Roger GREEN, Mr. and Mrs. Russell F. SIMONDS and their sons, Lewis and Donald, left Wednesday for a motor trip into the Adirondack mountains and a sojourn at Edgar R. MEAD'S came near Clearwater.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Ira A. COREY drove to Palmyra, Tuesday, with their daughter, Mrs. Lyle F. BAIER of Canandaigua, who took a train there for Ilion, where she is visiting Miss Olive HOYT. Mr. BAIER will drive to Ilion Sunday and Mrs. BAIER will return home with him.
+ Mrs. John CARLILE and daughter, Mrs. John CORBIN and Mrs. CORBIN'S daughter, Grace. The guests came with a surprise dinner. Mrs. CARLILE is the widow of Mrs. O'CONNOR'S brother, John. The party motored from Rome, NY.

KAISER - SPATH - The marriage of Miss Helen E. SPATH, daughter of Mrs. Freda E. SPATH of Rochester and William C. KAISER, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. KAISER of Victor, was solemnized at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Rochester, Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, the Rev. F. E. REISSIG officiating. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Grace MURRAY offered selections on the organ and Mrs. Burton SAUTTER of Lyons, cousin of the bride, sage "Because". The bride, who was given in marriage by her mother, wore her mother's wedding gown of white net-point d'esprit, trimmed with lace over satin. Her veil was of tulle and face arranged in cap fashion with a wreath of orange blossoms and she carried a shower bouquet of brides roses and euphorbia. She was attended by Miss Verna KAISER, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a gown of nile green flat crepe with slippers to match and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and larkspur. Miss Dorothy REISSIG and Miss Mary Lou BARTHOLOMEW were flower girls. They both wore dresses of yellow organdie and carried baskets of garden flowers. The bridegroom had as best man, his cousin, Robert WORTHY, and for ushers, Elmer KAISER of Victor, also a cousin and Harry DALE. The bride's mother wore a lace gown of deep lilac shade with a corsage of gardenias. The bridegrooms mother wore a flowered crepe gown with a corsage of gardenias. The church was decorated with garden flowers, palms and altar candles.
Following the ceremony, a dinner was served to the bridal party and the immediate relatives at the home of the bridegroom in Victor. Prenuptial events were given by Mrs. Anna WORTHY, Mrs. Fred KAISER, Mrs. Clarence DUNN, Mrs. Emma JACK, Mrs. Howard T. CASE and Mrs. S. J. CAMPBELL, the officers and teachers of Emmanuel Lutheran Sunday School, Mrs. Elmer METZ and the Emmanuel orchestra members, the bride's former associates in the Monroe county clerk's office, Mrs. Burton SAULTER and Mrs. Adam STELLL of Lyons. The couple left immediately for Chicago, where the bridegroom will complete his preparation for the ministry at the Chicago Lutheran Seminary.
MILLS -DURNIN - The wedding of Miss Alma DURNIN, daughter of Mrs. James MC NAMARA of Victor, and Preston MILLS, son of Mrs. Louise MILLS of Seneca Falls, took place at 9 o'clock Saturday morning in the rectory of St. Patrick's church in Seneca Falls. The Rev. B. L. QUIRK preformed the ceremony. The bride wore a gown of brown crepe with matching accessories while her sister, Miss Helen DURNIN, as bridesmaid, wore a gown of eel gray with matching accessories. William FUESS Jr. was best man. Obituary - MURRELL - Funeral services for Michael MURRELL, aged 79 years, who died at his home, Saturday, after a long illness, were held Tuesday afternoon from the home. The Rev. H. L. GAYLORD, of St. John's Episcopal church at Canandaigua, officiated. Interment was the East Bloomfield cemetery. Mr. MURRELL was born in the town of East Bloomfield, August 15, 1863, son of the late George and Olive Hancock MURRELL, where his entire left had been spent. He was married March 11, 1886, to Evelina MORROW. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. William CREEDON and Mrs. Milton PAGE; also one granddaughter, Miss Avis CREEDON, of this place.

+ Mr. and Mrs. Walter PHILLIPS and Mrs. Hiram CASE were Sunday guests of friends in Cortland. Mrs. CASE is spending the week with her sister, at Lodi.
+ Mrs. Spencer E. SAXBY was hostess for a meeting of the bridge club, Friday afternoon. Honors were won by Mrs. Mae GILMORE and Mrs. Max RUBENSTEIN.
+ Miss Leone MEEHAN attended a birthday party last Friday night.
+ Alice TOBEY got her driver's license last week.
+ Edna CLOHECY and Mary WOODARD visited school, Wednesday.
+ Miss Lucille THOMPSON entertained her father, mother and Mr. and Mrs. RICH for dinner, Monday night.
+ Warren MC WILLIAMS, a member of the 5th and 6th grade room, is serious ill with poison ivy.
+ Martin BAKER from Bristol Center, has entered first grade.

Mrs. Caroline PECK, widow of William PECK, had died at her home here on December 1st, aged 69 years.

Miss Margaret KEATING had died very suddenly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. ALDRIDGE on Maple avenue, where she had been carried after becoming ill while on her way home from church.
Looking back 10 years ago:
Patrick H. TOOMEY, formerly of Victor, had died in Rochester, aged 73 years.
+ Unemployed May Register In Victor, Saturday Morning - Unemployed residents of Victor, who desire work under the Federal Civil Works Administration will be given an opportunity to register at the town offices in the Gallup block, Saturday morning, from 9 to 12. Harold MEAD of this village, who has been assisting in the work of registering the unemployed throughout the county, will be in charge of the registration here.
+ Native of Mendon Passes 89th Birthday - Mrs. Mary Burt LEWIS of Honeoye Falls, celebrated her 89th birthday, November 29th. She was born in the town of Mendon, her parents having been pioneer settles of the Genesee country. Her husband, the late Louis LEWIS, was a Civil war veteran and Mrs. LEWIS has vivid memories of the Civil war and its aftermath of depression. She is still active, enjoys motoring and found an airplane ride, about a year ago, a pleasant experience. Mrs. LEWIS has four daughters, Mrs. Benjamin AUSTIN, Honeoye Falls, with whom she lives; Mrs. Elizabeth RICHARDS, Mrs. Harley S. MURPHY of Rochester; and Mrs. W. J. ECKLER of Victor, and two sons, Eugene of Honeoye Falls and Frank of Titusville, Pa.
