CANANDAIGUA - Mrs. Helen VanGelder Andrews, 78, widow of Arthur
Andrews of Canandaigua RD4, died Saturday night in King's Park, LI.
She died while visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles Gehres.
A lifelong resident of Canandaigua, she was born here January 31, 1882, a
daughter of the late George B. and Elizabeth Wheatley VanGelder.
The family home was on
the North Road. Mr. Andrews
died last year. Mrs.
Andrews attended Chapin Methodist Church and was a member of the Rebekah
Lodge, Canandaigua, and National Grange. Surviving are one son, Frank A.
Andrews, Canandaigua, two daughters, Mrs. Lyle Arnold of Canandaigua,
and Mrs. Gehres, 11 grand children, and 10 great grandchildren. (Her
body was interred 1960 Canandaigua, New
York, Woodlawn Cemetery.)
At 27 years of age Helen
became the mother of Anna Mary Andrews

Peter Grace Hurlbutt of Canandaigua, NY, 1 sister, Mary Gehres of
Kings Park, NY, sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Andrews, of Canandaigua, 7
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canandaigua,
former office Manager of the Credit Union at the Canandaigua Veteran's Hospital,
and a member of the following, Daughter's of the American Revolution, Daughter's
of the American Colonists and the Colonial Dames.
There will be no prior calling hours. Memorial service in First United
Methodist Church. Her
body was
interred 1989 Canandaigua, NY, Sand Hill Cemetery.
She

Lyle
R. Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Arnold of Canandaigua, were
married by Rev George E. Finlay at the Baptist parsonage on Saturday
and
the attendants were Frank A. Andrews and Miss Mary R. Andrews, brother
and sister of the bride.
The
groom was graduated from Cornell University in 1927 and is associated with his
father in the dairy business. His bride was graduated from Canandaigua Academy,
class of 23, and from the Canandaigua teacher's training class and has taught
three years in rural schools. She will enter Brockport Normal to continue a
teacher's course.

At
the Baptist parsonage in West Gibson Street Saturday afternoon, took place the
marriage of Miss Esther Elizabeth Andrews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Andrews of Canandaigua, and Lyle R. Arnold, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Arnold, also of Canandaigua. Rev. George E. Finlay
performed the ceremony and the attendants were Miss Mary R. Andrews and Frank
A. Andrews, sister and brother of the bride.
The groom is associated with his father in the dairy farming business having been graduated from Cornell in 1927. His bride is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, 1923, the Teachers' Training class 1924, and taught in the rural schools for three years. She plans to enter Brockport Normal School this month to continue a teacher's course.

The death of Charles H. Andrews aged 74 years, occurred at his
home on West Gibson Street on Tuesday, following a long illness. He leaves his
widow, one daughter, Miss Jennie Andrews of Canandaigua, and one son, Harry
E. Andrews of Rochester, also two sisters, Mrs. Sarah E. Case,
Canandaigua, and Mrs. Margaret LeRoy of Akron, Ohio. Burial in West
Avenue Cemetery, Canandaigua.

Funeral
services for Mrs. Emma L. Andrews aged 76 years, a former resident of
Canandaigua, whose death occurred at Rochester General Hospital last Thursday
evening following a short illness with pneumonia, were held at the Presbyterian
church Monday afternoon. Rev. Hardy Lumb officiated and interment was
made in West Avenue Cemetery. She leaves one son, Harry E. Andrews of
Rochester, with whom she resided.

Miss Jennie Foskett Andrews, aged 48 years, died at her home
on West Gibson Street yesterday morning. She
leaves her mother, Mrs. Emma Andrews of Canandaigua, and one brother,
Harry E. Andrews, of Rochester. Funeral services held at the home tomorrow.
Interment at West Avenue Cemetery.

Bristol, Mrs. Cora Andrews Simmons, wife of Carroll E.
Simmons,
died at her home here on Wednesday, September 15, 1954, after a long period of
failing health. She was 81 years
old. She was a daughter of
George and Melvina Briggs Andrews. Her entire life had been spent within sight
of her birthplace.
She attended school in District No 1, and the East Bloomfield High
School. In her youth she attended the Baptist Free Library Association, since
the early years of the organization. She and Mr. Simmons were married at the
Andrew's home, January 25, 1893, having observed 61 years of happily married life
the past year.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a niece, Mrs. Elva Crooker of
East Bloomfield, and a nephew Maurice Andrews of Lima.
The services were held at the Wheeler Funeral Home in East Bloomfield,
Friday, Rev. Harry M. Wright minister emeritus of the Universalist church
officiated. Interment was in Bristol Evergreen Cemetery. Bearers were Chauncy
Symonds, Frank Gilbert, Clarence Jenks, Dean Gladding, Elmer Simmons, and Roy
Miller. She
married Carroll E.

The marriage of Miss M. Lucille Tiffany of West Gibson Street, and Frank Andrews of Canandaigua, took place at the Methodist Parsonage, Main St. North, on Saturday afternoon. Rev. Stephen S. Pratt performed the ceremony and attendants were Miss Annabelle VanGelder, Canandaigua, Gordon VanGelder, cousins of the groom.
After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Andrews will reside with the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Andrews, North Road, the groom being associated with his father in the dairy business. His bride is a member of the Lisk office force.
Margaret was born January 17, 1910. Margaret died March 01, 1995 Canandaigua, New York, at 85 years of age. Her body was interred 1995 Canandaigua, NY, Sand Hill Cemetery At 20 years of age Margaret became the mother of Elaine Lucille Andrews Canandaigua, New York, January 31, 1930.

Mrs. Malvina Andrews died Saturday afternoon after an illness of about a
week. She leaves a son, two
daughters, and an aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Briggs, to mourn
her death. Another sad fact in the connection with the death of Mrs. Andrews was
that Wednesday was to have been her daughter's wedding day, the family have the
sympathy of many friends.
