BARRY - KEEFE
At St. Patrick's church, Wednesday morning at 8 took place the marriage of M. Loretta Keefe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Keefe, and Leonard H. Barry, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Barry. Rev. J. W. E. Kely performed the ceremony.
The bride wore beige georgette and lace over pink crepe with hat to match and carried bride roses. Miss Helen Keefe, sister of the bride, wore nile green georgette with hat to match. She carried pink snapdragons. The groom was attended by his brother, Walter Barry. Fran Keefe, brother of the bride, and Clifford Barry, cousin of the groom, acted as ushers. The wedding marches were played by Mrs. Everett Turner.
After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride to the immediate families of the bride and groom. Mrs. Fred Higinbotham was the caterer. Pre nuptial events were a variety shower by Miss Gladys Turner, a variety shower by Mrs. J. V. Barry, and Mrs. W. Leary, a dinner by Miss Josephine Mooney of Canandaigua and a variety shower by the girls of the Charlotte branch of the Rochester Telephone Company.
After a short eastern trip Mr. and Mrs. Barry will reside in Victor. The bride is manager of the office of the Postal Telegraph Cable Co., in Victor.

OBITUARY - BARRY
- Michael Barry, a lifelong
resident of Victor township, died on Monday, February 1, 1943, aged 75 years.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Julia Keefe of Victor, a brother, James, of Shortsville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the home of his sister and from St. Patrick's church, Thursday morning. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. His body was interred 1943 Victor, New York, St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Mrs.
Julia B. Keefe, 77, Dies
Mrs.
Julia Barry Keefe of Church Street, Victor, died Saturday morning, September
8, 1951, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Barry, following a
brief illness. She was 77.
Mrs.
Keefe was born June 3, 1874, Cherry Street, Victor, the daughter of Julia
Donovan and William Barry. At an early age she married Pierce Keefe
and came to Victor Village to reside. She
was a life member of St. Patrick's church, and an active member of the Altar and
Rosary Society until recent years. She led a busy home life and enjoyed her
family, being respected by her many friends.
Her husband passed away eleven years ago and during the past
eight years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Barry
and family. Mrs. Keefe fell
in her daughter's home three years ago, fracturing her hip from which she
readily recovered and was able to be about the house. Ten days ago she was
stricken with a slight shock followed by a more severe attack last Friday
afternoon which caused her death Saturday morning.
She is survived by two sons, Edmund of Rochester and Austin of Victor, one daughter, Mrs. Clifford Barry of Victor, four grandchildren. Services from St. Patrick's church. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Her body was interred 1951 Victor, New York, St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Last
Saturday was held the funeral of Mrs. Burt Beach at Allen's Hill. Mrs.
Beach was the daughter of the late Levi Tiffany, and sister of the
late George Tiffany, all former residents of this town, and among its
most respected inhabitants.
Thus has her family of eight young children been bereft of a mother, her
mother of an affectionate daughter, and one daughter only remains of Mrs.
Tiffany's family. Kindly sympathies are tendered the friends in their great
bereavement.

Took Place on Wednesday Same Minister Officiated - Yellow Predominated
A pretty home wedding took place at the home of Mrs. Inez Johnson, Dailey Avenue, on Wednesday evening, when her sister, Miss Alice Llela Jones, became the wife of Maurice Lynn Benham, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Benham, of Hopewell Center. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Frank Jones, of Canandaigua, who have been spending the winter at Isle of Pines, Cuba.
There
were about 50 guests present at the ceremony, this number including the
immediate families and a few intimate friends. Rev. Charles M. Eddy
performed the ceremony, assisted by Rev. George E. Finley.
The double ring ceremony was used. Palms and ferns were massed at the
eastern end of the living room, where the vows were read.
The
bride wore a gown of white pussy willow taffeta, trimmed with tulle, and carried
bride roses and lilies of the valley. She
was attended by Miss Mildred Scott Zavitz, of Honeoye Falls, who wore
pink pussy willow taffeta and carried pink and white sweet peas. Miss Charrie
Johnson, niece of the bride was ring bearer, and wore a dress of flowered
marquisette. The groom's attendant was W. Wallace Jones, brother of the
bride. Miss Lucy Housel of Rochester, played the wedding music, and
Mrs. Charles A. Foley sang "I Love You Truly". Miss Housel
was attired in a gown of robins egg blue crepe de meteor, and Mrs. Foley
wore yellow taffeta.
A
reception followed the ceremony, after which dinner was served. The tables were
decorated so as to carry out the color scheme of pink and yellow. The relatives
were seated at long tables, and 12 brothers and sisters were seated at one long
table.
The
couple left during the evening for a short trip, after which they will reside at
Seneca Falls, where the groom has recently taken a position as manager of the
Endicott Johnson and Co. store. The
bride's traveling suit was of gold colored velour and with it she wore a black
hat.
The

Castle, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Benham and son, Murray, Mr. and Mrs. John
Benham, of Hopewell Center, S. Emory Budd and Miss Mary Garlock

Frank Jobes, of Honeoye Falls, Dr. and Mrs. E. Case Jones, Mr. and Mrs.
J. Jones, the Misses Elsie and Florence Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M.
Douglass and daughters Dorothy and Gladys, and Leon Benham, of
Rochester, Miss Alice Cassidy and Irving Jones, of Watkins, Mr. and
Mrs. J. Cleland of Gorham, F. J. Jones, Miss Helen Jones, Will Jones, Mr.
and Mrs. William Blodgett, and Mr. and Mrs. Cassort Boardman and son

Prenuptial events were a chafing dish shower by Miss Mildred S. Zavitz at Honeoye Falls, and a personal shower by Mrs. Warner Ellis. Miss Maud Franklin entertained at a St. Patrick's party for Miss Jones and Mr. Benham, and Mr. and Mrs. Hyland Shattuck and Miss Agnes Murphy.

Warren
Case Benham, a native of Hopewell, who had been a feed and produce dealer in
Canandaigua for many years, died, Sunday, September 26, 1943, after a brief
heart illness.
He
is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Wood Benham, two daughters, Miss
Ruth Benham, Canandaigua, and Mrs. Roy Spearen, Elkhart, Ind., one
son, Walter C. Benham, Canandaigua, three brothers, Supervisor, John
H. Benham , and E. Murray Benham, both of Hopewell, and Maurice L. Benham,
Canandaigua, two sisters, Miss Ruth Benham, Victor, and Mrs. James
Edwards, Canandaigua. Burial
made in Woodlawn Cemetery.

WOOD HOME
Abundance of Roses and Daisies Decorated the Rooms
BENHAM - WOOD
Amid
a profusion of June roses, peonies, daisies and ferns, the marriage of Warren
Case Benham and Miss Nellie Anna Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Wood, Spangle Street, was solemnized at five o'clock yesterday
afternoon. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. E. J. Brooker, of Seneca Castle, in the presence of 60
relatives and friends of the bride and groom. They were unattended.
The
bride wore a gown of white crepe dechine with shadow lace trimmings and carried
white roses. Following
the ceremony the guests were served at the wedding dinner. The bride's table of
12 covers was centered with white carnations. The smaller tables were centered
with white peonies, daisies and ferns to carry out the color scheme of green and
white.
The
wedding music was played by Miss Ruth Benham, sister of the groom. After
a short trip Mr. and Mrs. Benham will reside with the bride's parents.
Guests were present from Mount Vernon, Rochester, Victor and Canandaigua. Among
the prenuptial events was a variety shower by Mrs. Anson Gage, on
Saturday.

Miss
Ruth Mary Benham, daughter of Mrs. W. Case Benham, North Main St.,
and the late Mr. Benham, and James T. Finnick, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William J. Finnick, South Main St., were married in St. Mary's church,
Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. M. C. Wall performing the ceremony.
The
bride was given in marriage by her brother, Walter C. Benham, and was
attended by her sister, Mrs. C. L. Spearen, as matron of honor.
Francis J. Finnick was best man for his brother, and Charles L.
Spearen and Frank McWilliams, a brother-in-law of the bridegroom, were
ushers.
A reception to about 75 guests was held in the home of the bride's
mother. Mrs. John E. Graham presided at the serving table assisted by Mrs.
Edmund I. Harroun.
After a wedding trip to New York City and the New England states, Mr. and Mrs. Finnick will live temporarily with the bride's mother. The bridegroom was recently discharged from the Army after three years service, including two and a half years in the European Theater. He is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, 1940. His bride was a member of the 1941 class.

- E. Murray Benham, 94,
died January 9th at the Avon Nursing Home.
Mr. Benham was born Dec 16, 1901, in the town of Hopewell, and was
the son of Ebenezer and Emma Case Benham.
He
owned and operated the former West Avenue Ford Garage in Canandaigua for many
years, retiring in 1950. He had been a member of the Kiwanis Club and the
Clifton Springs Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Sons of the
American Revolution in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr.
Benham had operated a farm on Canandaigua's West Lake Road, where he raised
Suffolk sheep, and was a well known livestock judge throughout the Northeastern
US. He was an active member of the Farm Bureau.
He
is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ellan and Robert Mallory
of Canandaigua, and Elaine B. Taylor of Leesburg, Fla., six
grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his wife, Millicent Hicks Benham. Burial in Woodlawn
Cemetery.

marriage of Miss Millicent Lillian Hicks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert N. Hicks of Middle Cheshire Road, and E. Murray Benham of
Canandaigua took place at the home of the bride's parents on Wednesday PM at
four thirty. Rev. Stephen S Pratt of Methodist church of this city
performed the ceremony in the presence of about 90 relatives and friends.

In
a double wedding ceremony in the Methodist church Saturday afternoon, Miss
Ellan M. Benham became the bride of Robert M. Mallory of Cheshire,
and Miss Elaine H. Benham was married to Albert Frederiksen of
Syracuse.
The brides are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. E. Murray Benham, South
Pearl St. Mr. Mallory is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt L. Mallory,
and Mr. Frederiksen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Frederiksen
of Penn Yan. The Rev. Lloyd V.
Moffett and the Rev. Stephen S. Pratt performed the ceremony. Both brides
were given in marriage by their father.
Miss Ellan Benham escorted by her father, was attended by Miss
Elsie Mason, of Canandaigua as bridesmaid.
Floyd M. Barnes, Canandaigua, cousin of the bridegroom was best
man for Mr. Mallory, and his ushers were Thomas Dixon and Wilfred
Moranda, Canandaigua, and Donald Dilmore, Rochester.
Escorted by her grandfather, Herbert N. Hicks, Miss Elaine
Benham was attended by her sister, Mrs. Mallory as matron of honor
and by Miss Dorothy Armitage as bridesmaid. Helmar Frederiksen,
Penn Yan, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and ushers were Alvin
Frederiksen, twin brother of the bridegroom, John W. Carpenter,
Canandaigua, and Donald Betts of Penn Yan.
A reception for about 200 guests was held at Lake View Inn, East Lake
Road.
After a short wedding trip to Ohio, Michigan, and
Pennsylvania, Mr. and Mrs. Mallory will live at 118 West Lake Road,
Canandaigua. The bridegroom is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, 1943, and
served with the Army in the Pacific theater. His bride also graduated
Canandaigua Academy, 1943, and Kueka College, 1947.
Following a wedding trip through the New England states, Mr. and Mrs. Frederiksen will live at 822 South Avenue, Syracuse. The bridegroom is a graduate of Penn Yan Academy, and of Yale University. Navy ROTC. His bride was graduated from Canandaigua Academy, 1944, and attended Keuka College and Rochester Institute of Technology.
