Miss
Geraldine K. Dietz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dietz, North Main
Street, and John J. Coyne, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Coyne, Howell
Street, were married Thursday morning at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Michael
C. Wall performing the ceremony.
The
altar was banked with Madonna lilies. The bride was gowned in white chiffon
with a pleated bolero jacket. Her halo veil was of Chantilly lace, and she
carried a bouquet of bride roses and baby breath.
A
wedding breakfast was served to 40 at Miller's Colonial Inn, where the bride's
bouquet, Madonna lilies and the bride's cake formed the table decorations. A
reception to 200 guests followed at the home of the bride where seasonable
flowers and lilies were used in profusion. Out of town guests were from
Buffalo, Rochester, Geneva, Syracuse, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ocean Grove, NJ.
After
a short trip Mr. and Mrs. Coyne will live at 141 South Main Street. The
bride's going away costume was a pink and blue ensemble with pink accessories.

DOBBLER - Word has been received here of the death of Joseph Dobbler, 80, of Caprycke, Belgium, a resident of Canandaigua for more than 30 years, which occurred February 12, after a day's illness.
Born
in Belgium February 28, 1865, Mr. Dobbler came to the United States when
a young man. He was a well known farmer in this vicinity and a staunch
Republican. In 1924 he retired and returned to Belgium.
Survivors
are three daughters and a son, Mrs. Alfons Hautekeete, Rochester, Mrs.
Charles VanGelder, Chapin, Mrs. Elmer Reynolds, Littleville, 17
grandchildren, also several relatives in Belgium.

Charles VanGelder, 63, of Chapin, lifelong resident of Ontario
County, died Saturday, April 25, 1953, after a short illness.
He was born September 21, 1889, in Canandaigua, son of the late George
and Elizabeth Wheatley VanGelder. He
was a member of Chapin Methodist
Church. Survivors include his stepmother, Mrs. Fred Mackey of Middlesex,
four daughters, Mrs. Walter Wright of Manchester, Mrs. Clarence
Chappell, and Mrs. Andrew Burt, both of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Robert
Burgess of Chapin, five sons, George A. of Brockport, Charles A. of
Palmyra, Philip E. of Buffalo, Fred M. of Chapin, and Francis
A. of Victor, 33 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers Lewis
A. of Canandaigua, and David of Clifton Springs, two sisters, Mrs.
Arthur Andrews of Canandaigua and Mrs. Herbert Cole of Chapin, and
several nieces and nephews.
Friends
may call at the home in Chapin today. Services there tomorrow, with Rev. Stephen S. Pratt,
retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Burial in Pioneer Cemetery, Clifton
Springs.
At 24 years of age Charlie
became the
father of George A. VanGelder

Death record information given by her son, Herbert, stated her age
was 68 years and 4 days.

EAST BLOOMFIELD -
The death of Mrs. Jennie Donaldson Finegan occurred at her
residence in the eastern part of the town on Tuesday night, after a short
illness from pneumonia. She was the
widow of Patrick Finegan, whose death took place about 16 months ago.
Jennie
Stafford Donaldson was born in Rochester, January 27, 1843, and May 1, 1868,
she and Patrick Finegan were married, coming soon after to this town,
where they have since made their home.
Honored
and respected by the entire community, Mrs. Finegan was devoted to her
family and friends, and was a true home maker. She leaves two daughters and
three sons, Mrs. E. J. Pedley, of Cleveland, Ohio, Miss Emma Finegan,
who resides at home, Herbert and William Finegan of this town, and
Emmett, of Canandaigua, also one brother, George H. Donaldson, of
Charlotte.
The funeral will be held from her late home tomorrow afternoon, being conducted by Rev. W. D. Robinson, pastor of the Congregational church, and interment will be in the East Bloomfield.

KICK of COLT FINALLY FATAL- Death
of Patrick Finnegan at East Bloomfield saddens Community
The
death of Patrick Finnegan occurred very suddenly early Tuesday morning,
at the family residence in the Eastern part of the town.
Mr. Finnegan was severely injured several months ago by a colt
and ever since had been confined to his bed.
His
injury was healing nicely when on last Saturday he had an attack of heart
trouble. Dr. Wheeler was called but to no avail. Mr. Finnegan was
born in Ireland 77 years ago. His family moved to this country and he spent his
early years in Bristol and Henrietta.
For 40 years Mr. Finnegan had been an upright and much respected
citizen of East Bloomfield.
His
death will be a great loss to the community. He is survived by his wife, two
daughters, Miss Emma Finnegan of this place, and Mrs. E. J. Pedley,
of Cleveland, Ohio, and three sons, Herbert, Emmett, and William, all of
this place. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, at the family residence,
Rev. W. D. Robinson officiating.
Burial in Village Cemetery.

Victor, March 19, 1902, William F. Donovan of Paddleford, and Miss
Grace VanDenbergh of Victor. This was a double wedding with her sister.

Double Wedding of Sisters
The
home of H. Jenner VanDenbergh was the scene of a pleasant event on
Wednesday afternoon, it being the occasion of the marriages of their daughters, Misses
Grace VanDenbergh to William F. Donovan, and Miss Harriett VanDenbergh to
James W. Maltman, all of this town.
The
ceremonies were performed at 5 30 o'clock by Rev. Loren Stiles, of the Methodist
Church. The wedding was a small one, only the immediate relatives and a few
intimate friends being present. After congratulations and the wedding supper the
couples left for brief wedding journeys.

OBITUARY - DONOVAN
The death of Mrs. William Donovan of Victor on August
1, 1944, brought the first break in the family circle of eight daughters and one
son of the late Henry Jenner and Rose Fenton VanDenberg. Mrs. Donovan was
visiting her daughter Mrs. Floyd Crary, in Rochester, when a second shock
followed a previous light attack from which she had practically recovered.
Within the week she was for the third time stricken, and was unable to rally.
She was for many
years an active and valued member of the First Methodist Church of Victor, and
of Gahayanduk Chapter OES, and was held in high regard by many friends.
Besides her
husband, Mrs. Donovan leaves three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Crary,
and Mrs. Jack Rowe, both of Rochester, Mrs. Lewis Simonds, Victor,
one son Francis J. Donovan of Spencerport, seven sisters, Mrs. Phoebe
VanZile, Florida, Mrs. Hattie Maltman, Victor, Mrs. George Blass,
Red Creek, Mrs. I. B. Estes and Mrs. Arch Cuykendall, both of Victor, one
brother, Earl F. VanDenberg, Rochester, Mrs. Lewis Kesel, Victor, Mrs.
Eugene Erickson, Rochester, also seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Sale and Cotton funeral home, Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Shirley L. Travis officiating. Burial made in Boughton Hill Cemetery.

A
simple wedding took place Friday afternoon, July 21st, at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. William Donovan, when their daughter, Miss June Donovan, became
the bride of Lewis Simonds, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Simonds.
The marriage was performed in a corner bower of pink and white under a
white satin arch from which hung a white horse shoe. Justice Arch Cuykendall,
uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony.
The
bride was dressed in a white lace and net gown and wore a cap style shoulder
length veil and a corsage of red roses. Mrs.
Marian Rowe of Rochester, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore
peach colored organdie and blue head band. Her corsage was of pink roses and
blue flowers. The best man was Donald
Simonds, brother of the groom. Only
the immediate families attended. A short reception followed the ceremony.
After
a trip to the Adirondack Mountains, Mr. and Mrs. Simonds will be at home
at 137 Arnett Blvd., Rochester. Prenuptial
events included variety showers by Mrs. Donald Maltman and Mrs. Marian Rowe
of Rochester, the Officers Club of the Eastern Star at the home of Mrs.
Charles Bailey and an emergency shelf shower at the home of his mother, Mrs.
Simonds.
