Harry1 Graham was born 1870. He married Mary Jane Redfern July 04, 1897.
Mary
was born Ireland 1875. Mary was the daughter of George Redfern
and Anne Hamilton.

died December 29, 1952 at 77 years of age.
DEATH of RESPECTED MONEYHAW RESIDENT
A shadow of deep
gloom, was cast over a wide area at the news of the death of Mary I Moran,
which took place at her residence, at Moneyhaw, Moneymore on Monday, December
29th.
Deceased was a
kind and highly respected lady. This was evident by the large number of people
who visited her during her illness.
Every possible
attention was given by Very Rev. F. Terry Adm., Doctors Fannigan and
her devoted family. One daughter traveled specially from New York to be with her
mother at the end. Deceased was bereaved some years ago by the death of a son
and daughter, both of whom were involved in a car accident in America. The shock
of this great loss seemed to linger with her forever.
A devoted
Catholic she belonged to a family that had given a number of its members to the
church. The funeral which was largely attended, took place to St. Maichacy's
Church, Drummullen, on Wednesday December 31st, where a Requiem Mass was
celebrated by Rev. Father Terry.
The remains were subsequently interred in the family burying plot attached to the church. The chief mourners were ............
Benjamin2 Grandy was

died September 09, 1873 at 80
years of age. His
body was interred 1873 Wolcott, New York,
Glenside Cemetery. Benjamin
died, Sep. 10, 1874 according to the 1875 Census. A note written by his daughter
Cynthia says Benjamin died Sept 9, 1873.
He
married Rowena
Johnson
in Butler, New York, February 28, 1815.
Rowena
was born Mass. May 05, 1798.
Rowena was the daughter of Dyer Johnson. Rowena
died November 24, 1877 in Butler, New
York, at 79 years of age.
The Newspaper, Clyde Times: Dec 13 1877 p2 col 5 says:
Roana
Grandy died. A note written by her Daughter Cynthia Wolven says she
died Monday Eve. 8 o'clock, Nov 24, 1877 at her house.
Stillman
Johnson Grandy
was
born in Richardson's Corners August 06, 1834.
Stillman died June 09,
1927 Seattle, Washington, at 92 years of age.

Stillman J. Grandy, Veteran of Civil War Dies at Home of Daughter.
Stillman
Johnson Grandy died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Inslee.
No. 7,743 Fifteenth avenue. N. W., Seattle, Wash., June 9. Had he lived till
August, he would have been 93. Mr. Grandy was born near Richardson's
corners, Aug. 6, 1834, his father having been the late Benjamin Grandy.
He was the last survivor of a long-lived family. Among his sisters, now deceased, were Mrs. Robert Wolven, Mrs. Abram Chase and Mrs. Abram Hill, of Wolcott. The late William Grandy, of Westbury, was a Brother. He was a carpenter by trade, and years ago helped to build the Wolcott Falls mill, the old gristmill at Red Creek, and the original large barn on the N. W. Tompkins, now the Albert Wells farm, just south of Wolcott.
When the Civil war broke out he was one of the original members and helped to organize Company G, 132nd N. Y. Infantry, which later was merged with the Ninth Heavy Artillery. He held the rank of first sergeant. Among his favorite stories of the war was of seeing and conversing with Lincoln in the forts about Washington. This meant much to him. Mr. Grandy was twice married. His first wife lived only a short time, and about 1867, he married Mrs. Annie E. Greene, of Oswego County.
Two children survive, Frank E. Grandy and Mrs. Nellie Inslee, both of Seattle, besides 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Grandy went to Michigan many years ago and in 1908 followed the children to Seattle, where his wife died five years ago, since which he had lived with his daughter. He was a fine old man, a Mason, honest, upright and until the last year or so had worked his garden and done much about the place.
He
had intestinal "flu" late in April and seemingly recovered but was too
weak to rally and was in bed much of the last two weeks of his life, though no
one thought the end so near. He passed quietly away in sleep.

Lake Shore News: The
article in last week's News telling of the death of Stillman J Grandy at
Seattle, Wash. recalled many boyhood memories of that fine man and soldier. He
was a great hunter and fisherman, and used to delight to visit Port bay with the
late Hezekish Easton. I have heard them tell many stories of their
exploits with rod and gun. - and they were true stories, too - when it was
possible to catch more fish and shoot more ducks in an hour than now could be
secured in a week.
Back before the Civil War when Mr. Grandy was not yet a voter he is said to have secured over a thousand wild pigeons in a single day. This was done by means of a net, which was sprung over the birds as they huddled on the ground after grain that had been scattered in a smooth place, the owner of the net being hidden and holding a line leading to the spring which was pulled when the birds were in the right place and in sufficient numbers to be caught. These were the famous "passenger pigeons." Now extinct, and I believe this was on their last great flight through this section in or about 1852.
The late Giles Fitch, of East Port Bay Street if I remember aright, was the owner of the net that Mr. Grandy used. He also was said to have shot the last wild turkey in this section, somewhere near Glenmark. That also was before the Civil War. It was a delight to talk with him and Mr. Easton. They always had something of interest to tell a boy, and nothing was ever said to do a boy harm. They had high ideals and both were splendid men.

MARRIED GRAY
- VANVECHTEN
The
marriage of Miss Clara B. VanVechten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman
VanVechten, and Franklin Justus Gray, of Springfield Mass., was
solemnized at the VanVechten home on Howell Street on Wednesday PM in the
presence of only the immediate relatives. The ceremony was performed by Rev.
Guy L. Morrill, pastor of the Presbyterian church.
The
bride and groom were unattended and all arrangements were marked by a pleasing
simplicity. Edgar J. Rose rendered wedding music. Mr. and Mrs. Gray left
for a western trip. Mr. Gray was formerly director of the recreation
grounds in this village.

About
five o'clock Saturday afternoon, Mrs. Harriet A. Hawley, wife of Dr.
Fred Hawley, of this village, was stricken with heart disease while shopping
in Lines shoe store, and expired in a short time. The deceased was 68 years of
age, and a respected member of the Baptist church, from where her funeral took
place yesterday afternoon.

Dr.
F. C. Hawley who died in this village last Thursday, had practiced medicine
here many years, for two or three years he had been in very poor health.
The funeral was held Saturday. Dr.
Hawley's wife died 2 years ago. A
son, Dr. I. F. Hawley and a married daughter survive him. Dr. James A.
Hawley was his brother.

Lyons BYRON NELLIS
Byron
Nellis, 57, long a resident of Lyons prior to 12 years ago when he went to
Buffalo, died in the Veteran's Hospital in that city Wednesday, January 31,
1951. He had been in failing health for some time.
The funeral and burial will be in Buffalo today
Mr. Nellis was born in Geneva, January 17, 1894, a son of Byron and Louise Baker Nellis. The father, a New York Central Railroad engineer, brought the family to Lyons shortly afterward. Returning from Europe after World War I, where he served with the 311th Infantry, Co. G., Nellis was employed here as a mechanic until he took a Buffalo job in 1938.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Greenagle Nellis, of Lyons, one son, Byron Nellis Jr., of Lyons, three sisters, Mrs. Marie Kleinhentz, of Lyons, Mrs. Augusta Rockwell, living in the West, and Mrs. Mildred Grendeau of Rochester, three brothers, Raymond, Deo, of Lyons, and James Nellis of Newark, also nieces and nephews.
