died March 20, 1917 Canandaigua, New York,
at 71 years of age.

HAGERTY
- The death of Edward
Hagerty aged 75 years occurred at his home on Granger Street on Tuesday
evening. There survive him. his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Fred Chisholm, and
Mrs. James Dawson of Canandaigua, and Miss Anna Hagerty of Wellsville, and one
son, Thomas Hagerty of Middlesex. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's
church today. Interment at Calvary.

The
dwelling house of Edward Hagarty
about two miles south of Rushville was lost entirely consumed by fire last
Wednesday night. The contents were
also destroyed. Loss about one thousand dollars, no insurance.

born Scipio, Cayuga Co., NY. June 28, 1823.
Obituary disagrees with the month of birth. Charles died November 26, 1890 Bristol Springs, NY,
at 67 years of age. [i].
Charles G. Hemenway shows up in Canandaigua City Directory in 1867 in South
Bristol as a farmer.

ACADEMY - It is
our sad duty this week to chronicle the death of Charles
G. Hemenway. He died at his home in Bristol Springs on the 26th inst. Mr.
Hemenway was an old and respected citizen.
He
served as Supervisor of his town for several years in succession. The funeral
was held at his residence on Friday, November 28, at two o'clock PM. His loss
will be deeply felt especially by his large circle of friends and relatives, and
the sorrowing family have the sympathy of all.

Death
of a prominent citizen Charles G. Hemenway died at the home in Bristol Springs,
November 26, 1890. Born in Scipio, Cayuga County, NY. August 28, 1823 and came
to Canandaigua when he was three years of age. His
body was interred 1890 Bristol, New York,
Coye Cemetery.
He
married Harriett
S. Davis

Conneaut, Ohio on the 11th inst. by Eld. W. Weatherby, Mr. Charles G. Hemenway
of Canandaigua, to Miss Harriet S. Davis, of the former place.
Harriett
was born November 26, 1823.
Harriett
died October 09, 1899 Bristol Springs, New
York, at 75 years of age. Her death
notice said she was 76 years of age in the Ontario County Journal, Friday
October 13, 1899. Her obituary in the same paper reads as follows:
Mrs.
Harriet Hemenway, widow of the late Charles G. Hemenway, and mother of
George B.
Hemenway, of Naples, died at the home of her grandson, W. L. Hemenway, on
Monday.
Mrs.
Hemenway came to this town with her husband and family in the early sixties, and
for many years lived on the farm now owned
by Frank Standish, on what
is known as Stid Hill, where by hard work and attention to details the family
were successful, Mrs. Hemenway bearing the full share of the burden during those
years of toil, and later removing to the smaller farm where both her husband and
herself ended their days.
Deceased
was about 75 years of age, was the mother of three children, two of whom,
Herbert and Harriet have passed away, leaving George B. the only surviving
member of the family. Her life and example are well worthy of emulation.
George
B. Hemenway
was
born Waterloo, New York June 26, 1852. George died May 02,
1914 Naples, New York, at 61 years of age.

FORMER ASSEMBLYMAN DIES AT NAPLES
Hon.
George B. Hemenway Succumbs to
Pneumonia After Short Illness
Honorable George B.
Hemenway, well known and highly esteemed throughout
the community, passed away at his home in Naples on Saturday morning, following
an illness of two weeks with pneumonia.
He was born in Waterloo, NY, June 26, 1852, and was the son of
Charles G. and Harriet Davis Hemenway. He was educated here in the Canandaigua
Academy. He removed with his parents to the town of South Bristol when quite
young, and later conducted a store at Bristol Springs, where he did an extensive
business for 15 years.
He held the office of Supervisor of South Bristol for several
years, and was postmaster at Bristol Springs for two terms. He was Supervisor of
the town of Naples at the time of his election to the Assembly in 1907. He was
an ardent Republican.
On
June 30, 1878, he was married to Miss Edna A. Allen, of Bristol. In 1893 he
purchased a home at Naples, where he had since resided. His kindly disposition
and generosity commended him to the confidence and esteem of all his friends and
associates. He was for years a trustee of the Presbyterian church at Naples, and
was a liberal supporter. He was also a member of the village school board.
There
survive his wife and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services were held
at the home on Monday PM, Rev. Joseph H. France officiating. Interment was in
Rose Ridge cemetery. His
body was
interred 1914 Bristol, New York, Rose Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs.
George Hemenway Naples Jan 2 The
death of Mrs. Edna Allen Hemenway occurred on Friday at 9 PM following an
illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at her late home on Monday
in charge of her pastor, Rev. F. A. Hawley of the Presbyterian church. Her
husband George Henenway, passed several years ago.
She is survived by relatives in Bristol Valley, where she was born. Mrs. Henenway was a faithful member of the church and active in other organizations.

Mrs. Harriet Hemenway Standish died at her home near Bristol Springs last
Tuesday. Her newborn babe died also. Deceased was the wife of Frank Standish and
sister of J. B. Hemenway of this town. She was 36 years old and left two
children.

Harriet,
wife of Frank Standish, and only daughter of the late Chas. G.
Hemenway, died in
childbirth last Wednesday night, aged 36 years.
Rev. Anthony conducted the funeral at the church Saturday.
Mrs. Standish was highly respected, her husband and two small children
survive.

was born South Bristol, New York October 03, 1848.
Herbert died July 21, 1884 Bristol
Springs, New York, at 35 years of age. Ontario
County Journal, July 25, 1884 stated that the funeral of Bert Hemenway
was attended Wednesday at Bristol Springs. He was the brother of George B.
Hemenway, and a very worthy young man.

We notice that Will C. Hemenway and Miss Edith Ricketson were married Xmas day at her sister's, Mrs. O. B. Roper, in East Bloomfield. They have set up their Lares and Penates in the C. G. Hemenway homestead a little North of this place. We are pleased that Edith moved no further distance from us.

Herbert John4 Hemenway was born South Bristol, New York February 27, 1897. Herbert died February 28, 1979 California, at 82 years of age. His body was interred 1979 Canandaigua, New York, Woodlawn Cemetery. He married Marie Fairbanks Totman Schuyler Lake, NY, September 09, 1929.
