IDESON - C. INGRAHAM

John¹ Ideson was born Ripon, Yorkshire England January 18, 1817. John died February 25, 1904 North Bloomfield, New York, at 87 years of age.

He married Sarah Moon. Sarah was born Leeds, England March 04, 1819. Sarah was the daughter of James Moon and Sarah . Sarah died May 17, 1899 North Bloomfield, New York, at 80 years of age. Lima death record line 360 shows she was from Leeds England and a 55 year resident in USA. She was aged 80 y, 2 m, 12 d.

IDESON - At North Bloomfield, May 17, 1899, Mrs. John Ideson, aged 80 years. The funeral services of Mrs. John Ideson were held from her late residence on Saturday afternoon. She leaves, besides a husband, three daughters, Mrs. John Jerome of Delaware, Mrs. Arthur Hunt, of Honeoye Falls, and Mrs. Charles Chambers, of this place. She was 80 years of age.

Her body was interred 1899 North Bloomfield, New York, N. Bloomfield Cemetery.

Miller's Corners John Ideson left New York City Saturday for a visit to England, his native home.

John Ideson and Sarah Moon had the following children:

Genevieve Ideson was born Bloomfield, New York September 09, 1856. Genevieve died November 21, 1939 North Bloomfield, New York, at 83 years of age.^[i] [i]. Death Record found at Lima, NY Town Hall, registration NO. 12. Informant was Marian Carmichael.

OBITUARY - Mrs. Genevieve Ideson Chambers, wife of Charles S. Chambers, died in her home in North Bloomfield, November 21, 1939, aged 83 years.

Besides her husband, a Civil War veteran nearly 92 years old, she is survived by two daughters, two sons, a sister, six grandchildren, and a niece. Mr Chambers is a relative of Miss Estella VanDenbergh and Ray C. VanDenbergh of Victor.

Funeral services took place from the home this Friday afternoon. Her body was interred 1939 North Bloomfield, New York, N. Bloomfield Cemetery.

Charles was born Victor, New York December 14, 1847. Charles was the son of Abraham Hibbard Chambers and Sybil Bushnell. Charles died December 16, 1940 North Bloomfield, New York, at 93 years of age.^[ii] [ii]. Death Record found at Lima, Town Hall, registration No. 9. Informant was Marian Carmichael, his daughter.

CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES AT AGE OF 93

Charles Chambers, naval veteran of the Civil War and last remaining member of the G.A.R. forces in the Honeoye Falls area, died Monday afternoon, in his home on N. Bloomfield after an illness of several days. He was 93 Saturday.

Born in Victor, December 14, 1847, he moved to Honeoye Falls at the age of 12 years where he attended public school and worked in a general store in North Bloomfield.

At the age of 16 he slipped away from his home, walked eight miles to Fishers, boarded a train for New York and on July 18, 1864, enlisted in the Navy. He was in the blockade off Fort Fisher for five months, and as powder boy, participated in the capture of the fort on Christmas Eve, 1864. Following hostilities he served two years on the sloops of war Susquehanna and Rhode Island, cruising along the Atlantic seaboard. On July 2, 1867, he received his discharge.

In 1869 he went to California over the first trans continental railroad, and worked for an organization which constructed the Central Pacific Railroad between San Francisco and Sacramento. He returned to North Bloomfield in 1878, where he married Genevieve Ideson, who died a year ago. For 20 years he served as postmaster of North Bloomfield, and for 26 years conducted the general store there. He served as a post commander of Lewis Gates Post, G.A.R., and a charter member. He was a member of the former Universalist church of North Bloomfield.

Surviving are two sons, Horace and Joseph, and a daughter, Mrs. William Carmichael, all of North Bloomfield, and a sister, Mrs. Don Braisie, of Flint, Mich, also six grandchildren and a great grandchild.

His body was interred December 19, 1940 North Bloomfield, New York, N. Bloomfield Cemetery.

Benjamin¹ Ingraham was born Mass. 1776. Benjamin died June 26, 1831 Naples, New York, at 54 years of age. His body was interred 1831 Cheshire, New York, Lucas Cemetery

He married Johannah Tremain August 02, 1798. Johannah was born Egremont, Mass 1775. Johannah was the daughter of John Tremain and Patience Kellogg . Johannah died December 28, 1860 South Bristol, New York, at 85 years of age.

Lucina A.C. Ingraham was born September 28, 1828. Lucina died September 19, 1918 Canandaigua, New York, at 89 years of age. She married James Coye February 27, 1852.

DIED - COYE - At Academy, September 19, 1918, Mrs. Lucina A. C. Coye, aged 89 years, 11 months, 21 days.

DEATHS OF THE WEEK

COYE - The death of Mrs. Lucina A. C. Coye, aged 89 years, 11 months, 21 days, occurred at her home on the west lake road yesterday morning. She was a woman of many endearing qualities of heart and mind and was much beloved by friends and acquaintances.

She loved flowers, their colors and their fragrance, and for many years her gardens gave expression of her care and love for them. She leaves two sons, David W. and Frank B. Coye, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie L. Trickey, of Shortsville.

Funeral services will be held at the house and at the Academy church on Sunday. Interment will be in Coye Cemetery.

Chauncy Fathergill² Ingraham was born Menteith Point, Ontario County September 04, 1815. Chauncy died February 06, 1901 Canandaigua, New York, at 85 years of age.

OBITUARY - INGRAHAM

At the home of his son on Garden Street occurred the death on Wednesday morning of Chauncey F. Ingraham, aged 85 years, 5 months and two days. Mr. Ingraham suffered an attack of the grip, which, a few days before his death developed into hiccoughs, from which he died.

Deceased was about the last of the old landmarks of the Southern part of the town. He was born on Menteth's Point, September 4, 1815, and his father and mother, Benjamin and Johanna Truman, came with their parents from Massachusetts before the settlement of Canandaigua, making the trip up the outlet in boats.

Mr. Ingraham was a millwright, and the stream which now trickles down off the hills at Menteth's was then of sufficient size to turn the mill wheels. Deceased engaged in farming during the latter years of his life.

He is survived by his wife and four children, Miss Mary C. Ingraham, George W., Melvina C. and Hiram C. Ingraham. Funeral services at the Garden St. address and burial at Academy. His body was interred 1901 Canandaigua, New York, Academy Cemetery.

He married Polina Elizabeth Clark Ontario County, NY, October 29, 1845.

OBITUARY - Polina E. Ingraham

Polina E. Ingraham died at the home of her son, George W. Ingraham, Garden St, on Wednesday morning of last week, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 5 days. Mrs. Ingraham was the widow of the late Chauncey F. Ingraham, whose death occurred five weeks prior to that of Mrs. Ingraham. The deceased was the only daughter of the late James and Abigail Clark, and was born in the town of Gorham, in the year 1821.

In 1846 she was married to Chauncey F. Ingraham and together they spent more than 55 years, in this and adjoining towns. Mrs. Ingraham is survived by her only brother, Abram W. Clark, of Santa Barbara, Cal., and by four children, two daughters and two sons, also by thirteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Burial at Academy.

Obituary - Ingraham - At the home of her son on Garden street on Wednesday, occurred the death of Mrs. Polina E. Ingraham, aged 79 years. Mrs. Ingraham's death follows closely upon that of her husband, who died on February 6.

She is survived by four children, Miss Mary Ingraham, George W. Ingraham, Melvina C. Ingraham, and Hiram C. Ingraham. The funeral will be held from the Garden street residence this afternoon, Rev. A. L. Freeman will officiate.

Her body was interred 1901 Canandaigua, New York, Academy Cemetery.

Herbert was born South Bristol, New York October 03, 1848. Herbert was the son of Charles G. Hemenway and Harriett S. Davis. Herbert died July 21, 1884 Bristol Springs, New York, at 35 years of age.

Ontario County Journal, July 25, 1884 stated that the funeral of Bert Hemenway was attended Wednesday at Bristol Springs. He was the brother of George B. Hemenway, and a very worthy young man.

DIED - HEMENWAY - At Bristol Springs, on Monday July 21, 1884, at the residence of his father Charles G. Hemenway, after a long illness, Herbert G. Hemenway, aged 35 years, 9 months and 18 days.

His body was interred 1884 South Bristol, New York, Coye Cemetery.

Melvina A. Ingraham was born December 06, 1852. Melvina died September 18, 1929 Bristol, New York, at 76 years of age.^[i] [i]. City of Canandaigua Death Record is 1452.

Mrs. Melvina A. Peck, aged 76 years, widow of Abram B. Peck, died at her home in Bristol Wednesday evening after a long illness.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. William J. Hawley, and Miss Laura Peck of this city, a sister, and a brother, Mrs. Mary Hemingway of Bristol, and George Ingraham of La, Cal., also a grandson, William J Hawley Jr. of this city.

Funeral services held from home Saturday PM, Rev. Charles A. Paille of Bristol Valley Congregational Church officiated. Interred in West Avenue Cemetery. Her body was interred 1929 Canandaigua, New York, West Avenue Cemetery.

She married Abram Bray Peck 1875.

Abram was born Hopewell, New York April 02, 1851.^[i] Abram was the son of Abram J. Peck and Charlotte A. Sandford. Abram died March 21, 1917 Canandaigua, New York, at 65 years of age. [i]. 1860 South Bristol Census shows Abraham B Peck age 9 years.

Abraham B. Peck died at his home on West Gibson Street after a short illness following an attack of apoplexy. He leaves his wife and two daughters, Mrs. William J. Hawley, and Miss Laura Peck, of Canandaigua. Rev. Livingston L. Taylor will officiate at the funeral services tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be in West Avenue Cemetery.

Chauncey W.⁴ Ingraham was born Bristol, NY 1882. Chauncey died September 1929 Leroy, New York, at 47 years of age. Killed in an automobile accident in Leroy on his way from Honeoye to Buffalo.

HONEOYE CAR COLLIDED WITH MOVING VAN

Chauncey Ingraham Was Instantly Killed - Born In Bristol Chauncey Ingraham, who was on his way from Honeoye to Buffalo where he works, was instantly killed about 12 Saturday night, when his car collided with a large moving van between Leroy and Mumford. Mr. Ingraham was the son of George and Mary Davis Ingraham, and was born in Bristol 47 years ago.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillian Hellyer Ingraham, five sons, Cedric, Glen, Herman, Elwin, and Norman, one daughter, Cella, all of Honeoye, his father of California, and three brothers. The funeral was held from the home on Monday afternoon. Rev. Niels Madsen officiated. Interment was made in Lake View Cemetery, Honeoye. His body was interred 1929 Richmond, New York, Lakeview Cemetery.

He married Lillian R. Hilliard East Bloomfield, New York, May 22, 1903.

Announcement is made of the marriage at Hagerstown, Md., August 5, 1940, of Miss Frances McVicar, daughter of George McVicar, of Livonia, and Norman Ingraham, son of Mrs. Lillian Ingraham, of this village. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. N. Wolerton, pastor of the First Baptist church. Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham have been motoring in West Virginia and Maryland, and after September 1st, will be at home in the Harry D. Norton bungalow in South Avenue, East Bloomfield.
