JOYCE
-
The death of Mrs. Mary Hanley Joyce, aged 68 years, widow of
John Joyce, occurred at the home of her son, Edward Joyce, Davidson
Avenue, on Monday evening, following a long illness.
She leaves one son, Edward.
The funeral services were held at St. Mary's Church yesterday morning. Interment was made in Victor.

BRISTOL CENTER -
The funeral of Ward Totman was held on Saturday at the M. E. Church, Rev. Mr.
Kerr officiating. He was nearly 89 years old, having spent about fifty years
in this town. He leaves three daughters and one son to mourn his loss, Mrs.
Reed of Illinois, Mrs. Luther of Luther, Michigan, Mrs. Bliss and
Levi Totman of this town.

Mrs. Fred Cribb, 77, Succumbs, Funeral Saturday
Mrs.
Mary Judd Cribb, 77, wife of retired Supreme Court Justice Fred D. Cribb,
died Wednesday night shortly after being admitted to Thompson Hospital. Mrs.
Cribb, a native of Clifton Springs, was born August 28, 1887, the daughter
of Mr. William A. and Addie Hill Judd. She was a graduate of Clifton
Springs High School and Elmira College.
Prior to her marriage on October 1, 1912, Mrs. Cribb taught
for a time in Islip, LI, NY. Justice and Mrs. Cribb observed their 52nd
wedding anniversary last fall. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Mrs.
Cribb was active in many community affairs and was deeply interested in
history. She was a member of the
New York State and Ontario County Historical Societies, and was active in the
formation of the Granger Homestead Society here.
She promoted restoration of the historical Granger mansion here and had
been a member of its house committee.
She
was one of the early members of the Current Events Club, and a former treasurer
of the Scientific Association. She served as volunteer for the American Red
Cross blood program for many years, and was a member of the former Sewing Club.
Survivors
besides her husband are, a son, Ontario County Surrogate Judge Joseph W.
Cribb, two grandchildren, Edmund and Linda Cribb, and a sister, Mrs.
Courtland W. Sanney, all of Canandaigua. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She

marriage for both. He was age 31 years, born Canandaigua, father was Ira
Piersall Cribb, mother, Estella Douglass. Mary Hill Judd, aged 25
years, born Clifton Springs, father was William Arthur Judd, mother, Addie
Julia Hill. Witnesses
were Ira P. Cribb and William A. Judd.

TAKES CLIFTON BRIDE
Village
Attorney Fred Douglass Cribb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira P. Cribb,
was united in marriage with Miss Mary Hill Judd, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William A. Judd, at the bride's home in Clifton Springs on Tuesday
evening. Rev. James A. Parsons, of Buffalo, an uncle of the groom,
performed the ceremony, which was witnessed by a large company, including a
number of relatives and friends from this village.
The bride wore a white lace robe over white satin, cut entraine, with pearl trimmings. Pearls caught her veil and she wore a pearl and diamond pendant, the gift of the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley. A luncheon followed the ceremony. The bride's table had as a centerpiece a basket of pink carnations. Small pink crepe nut baskets were the favors. After November 25, Mr. and Mrs. Cribb will be at home at 161 Howell Street.

Justice
Fred D. Cribb -
Services for Justice Fred D. Cribb, 88, took place from his home
at 244 North Main Street, Sunday afternoon, the Rev. A. Allison Childs,
pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn
Cemetery. Judge Cribb died at his home Thursday.
Born
in the town of Canandaigua, December 26, 1880, he was the son of Ira P. and
Estella F Cribb. He attended school in the rural district and was graduated
from Canandaigua Academy. He earned bachelor of arts and bachelor of law degrees
at Syracuse University and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1908.
He
opened offices in Canandaigua on October 1 that year and was admitted to
practice before the United States District Court, the Interstate Commerce
Commission, and the Treasury Department. He served in 1912 as attorney for the
village of Canandaigua and was author of the city charter. The following year he
became Canandaigua City Attorney, a position he held until he was elected
Ontario County Surrogate Judge in 1935.
He
was reelected to the surrogate bench in 1940 and in July of the following year
was endorsed by the county Republican Committee as its candidate for Justice of
the Supreme Court, Seventh Judicial District. He continued in that post until
1950, when he reached the age limit of 70 years.
He then became an official court referee and served for six years. He
also served as corporation counsel to the city of Canandaigua for 23 years.
His wife, the former Mary Judd of Clifton Springs, died in 1965. Survivors are a son, Surrogate Judge Joseph W. Cribb of Canandaigua, two grandchildren, Edmund of Denver, Col, and Linda Cribb, Rochester, a brother, Roland of Syracuse, and a niece.
