MADDEN - MALTMAN
Ruth Elizabeth Madden was born Rochester, New York December 04, 1913. She married Cameron Estes Elmira, New York, November 11, 1939.

WEDDING ESTES
- MADDEN
The
marriage of Miss Ruth Elizabeth Madden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur D. Madden of Elmira, and Cameron Estes, son of Mr. and Mrs.
I. B. Estes of Victor, took place November 11, 1939, at 3 o'clock, in the
Heddington Methodist Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harold
Sterns. Bouquets of oak leaves
and pompons decorated the church. The wedding march was played by Zennette
Clark.
The
bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her mother's wedding gown of white
marquisette and satin, and a floor length cap veil caught with orange blossoms
and a cut steel pin which was worn by both the bride's mother and grandmother at
their respective weddings. Her shower bouquet was of white roses.
Miss
Virginia Madden, sister of the bride, wore a floor length seagreen moire
gown with matching heart shaped moire hat and carried yellow pompons in an arm
bouquet. A younger sister, Miss Edna Lou Madden, was junior bridesmaid.
Her floor length gown was of gold moire and her hat was gold moire in small
Watteau style. Her bouquet was rust pompons.
Gordon
Booth of Rochester was best man. Arthur Madden Jr., brother of the
bride, and Moel Kuhrt, of Rochester, were ushers. The bride's mother wore
Boy Blue crepe with black accessories and token roses. Following the ceremony a
reception was given at the home of the bride's parents for relatives and friends
of the family.
Mr. and Mrs. Estes left on a motor trip to the South, and will make their home at 25 Lehigh Avenue, Rochester. The bride is a graduate of Albany State Teacher's College, and the bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Rochester. Mr. Estes is affiliated with the research department of the Eaastman Kodak Company in Rochester.

years.

the Ontario County Journal, Friday January 27, 1899 her death notice appeared.
It stated that she was 80 years of age, widow of John Madden, and
died at Canandaigua, New York.

OBITUARY - MAHAN
Anna
Elizabeth Mahan, formerly of Rochester, died in St. Francis Hospital,
Buffalo, Wednesday, September 27, 1945. Born in Hopewell, she had spent most
of her life in Rochester, where she was a secretary in the offices of the
Eastman Kodak Company.
She
was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America of that city.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Shaughnessy of
Canandaigua, Mrs. Margaret Breen of Hopewell, and Mrs. Frank Maley of
Buffalo, also several nieces and nephews. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery in
Geneva, NY.

was born Hopewell, New York 1883. Margaret
died 1972 at
89 years of age. Her
body was
interred 1972 Canandaigua, New York, Calvary Cemetery.
She
married Michael
Breen
Clifton
Springs, New York, September 25, 1911.[i]
Record number 23. He was listed as a Seminary Foreman. Witnessed by Loretta
Mahan and William Briggs. He was residing in Rochester, NY and she in
Hopewell, NY. Married by Rev. Wm. P. Ryan. [i].
Certificate and Record of Marriage number 23, and the Affidavit for License to
Marry copies are found on PG 1S and PG 1T in the book, A Tree Trunk. Witnesses
for the mariage were Loretta Mahan and William Briggs.

HOPEWELL
CENTER - At the Catholic
Church at Clifton Springs on Monday afternoon took place the marriage of Miss
Margaret Mahan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mahan, of this place,
and Michael Breen, of Rochester.
The
bride was attired in a handsome blue tailored suit, wore a white picture hat and
carried a prayer book. She was
attended by her sister, Miss Loretta Mahan, who also wore a blue tailored
suit with a large black hat. The groom was attended by William Briggs.
A reception was given to about 30 of the immediate relatives
and friends and a four course dinner served by a caterer at the home of the
bride. The house was prettily decorated with flowers. An orchestra from
Rochester furnished music.
They
were the recipients of many useful and beautiful gifts, including furniture, cut
glass, silver and several checks of considerable value.
Mr. and Mrs. Breen left during the evening for an eastern trip,
after which they will be at home in Rochester.

Funeral
services for Michael Breen, 67, who died Friday at his home in Hopewell,
were held from St. Mary's Church Monday morning. Interment made at Calvary
Cemetery. Mr. Breen was a

Funeral

Mahoney - Ryan
A
very pretty wedding took place on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St.
Patrick's Church when Miss Mary Isabel Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Ryan, was united in marriage to John Francis Mahoney, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Dennis Mahoney. The
nuptial mass was celebrated by Rev. J. W. E. Kelly, rector of St.
Patrick's.
The
bride wore a pretty tailored suit of taupe color and hat to match, and carried
white roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Helen C. Ryan, who wore
a blue suit and a georgette hat to match, and carried pink sweet peas.
W. Edward Mahoney, brother of the groom, was best man.
Frank Ryan, brother of the bride, and Thomas Barry, cousin
of the groom, acted as ushers. The
wedding march was played by Miss Anna Ryan and Edward Ryan sang O Promise
Me, and Ave Maria.
After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to 125 relatives of the immediate families at the home of the bride's parents, Mrs. Fred Higinbotham being the caterer. Mr. and Mrs. Mahoney left early in the afternoon for an eastern trip to Albany, Washington and New York City. Upon their return they will reside in Victor. The groom has a responsible position with G. W. Haxton and Son.

Obituary - Mahaney
The
death of Mrs. Eliza Mahaney, widow of Michael Mahaney, occurred at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Colin Chisholm, yesterday morning and was
due to the infirmities of old age, she having reached the advanced age of 84
years. For 30 years the family resided one mile east of the village. On the
death of her husband five years ago, she came to reside with her daughter, Mrs.
Chisholm.
There survive her besides her daughter, three sons, Timothy Mahaney, of Three Rivers, Michigan, Michael Mahaney of Rochester, and Thomas Mahaney, of Syracuse. The funeral will be held at St. Mary's church tomorrow morning.

Funeral
services for Mrs. Nora M. Chisholm, aged 89 years, were held from St.
Mary's Church, Tuesday morning. Interment made in Calvary Cemetery. Her death
occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Flannigan, in Geneva,
Sunday, after several months illness.
She leaves two sons, Fred D. Chisholm of Canandaigua, and C. Blaine Chisholm of Buffalo, two daughters, Mrs. Calvin Wade of Detroit, Mrs. Flannigan, brother, Thomas Mahoney of Syracuse, and five grandchildren. She married Colin D. Chisholm 1872.

William
Maltman formerly of the town of Canandaigua died at his home at East Victor
yesterday morning, aged 92 years. Mr.
Maltman who was a brother of the late John Maltman of this city was
born in Scotland but came to America with his parents when only 4 years old.
Mr.
Maltman was a veteran of the Civil War having served in the Union Army for
four years. He leaves a daughter, Miss Eleanor Maltman, with whom he made
his home, and a son William Jr. of East Victor. Interment at Boughton Hill
Cemetery. His
body was interred 1921 Victor, New York,
Boughton Hill Cemetery.
He
married Eleanor

Mrs. William Maltman
The
death of Mrs. Eleanor C. Maltman, wife of William Maltman,
occurred at the family home in East Victor, on Friday evening, December 13,
1912. Mrs. Maltman was
seventy eight years of age and had been in failing health for some months,
having suffered a complete breakdown, with a complication of heart disease at
the last.
Mrs. Maltman had spent the greater part of her life in this vicinity, and a large circle of friends mourn her loss. In early life she resided near the head of Canandaigua Lake, and a brief period of her married life was spent in the town of Orleans.
Besides the aged husband, who is a veteran of the Civil War, there survive three children, Miss Eleanor and William Maltman, Jr., and a daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. Bruce Harris, all residing in East Victor. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, at the home, with Rev. Lorren Stiles of the Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Maltman was a member in charge. The services were attended by many relatives and friends. Interment was made in Boughton Hill Cemetery.

OBITUARY - MALTMAN
James
William Maltman, a lifetime resident of Victor township passed away at his
home in East Victor, Thursday, September 2, 1937, in his 69th year. He had been
ill for some time. Mr.
Maltman was born in Victor and was a carpenter by trade. Quite a number of
homes in Victor were built by him and his father in law H. J. VanDenbergh.
Surviving
relatives are widow Hattie VanDenbergh Maltman, daughter Dorothy Smith,
son Donald of Victor. Milnor Lodge No. 137 F and A M. His
body was interred 1937 Victor, New York,
Boughton Hill Cemetery.

This
was a double marriage ceremony in the home of her father, Henry Jenner
VanDenbergh. Her sister Grace was married at the same time by, the Rev.
Loren Stiles of the M. E. Church. A wedding supper was served following the
ceremony for a few intimate friends.

Wedding of Sisters
The
home of H. Jenner VanDenbergh was the scene of a pleasant event on
Wednesday afternoon, it being the occasion of the marriages of their daughters, Misses
Grace VanDenbergh to William F. Donovan, and Miss Harriett VanDenbergh to
James W. Maltman, all of this town.
The ceremonies were performed at 5 30 o'clock by Rev. Loren Stiles, of the Methodist Church. The wedding was a small one, only the immediate relatives and a few intimate friends being present. After congratulations and the wedding supper the couples left for brief wedding journeys.
Hattie
was born Victor, New York
November 04, 1879. Hattie was
the daughter of Henry Jenner VanDenbergh
and Rosanna Amelia Fenton. Hattie died February 12, 1955 Victor, New
York, at 75 years of age.

Kesel, Victor, Mrs. Earl VanDenbergh, Rochester, one aunt, Mrs.
Nellie Prosser, Victor, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She
was a member of the OES, Gardner Class and WCTU. Interment at Boughton Hill
Cemetery.
