Mrs. Patrick O'Keefe -
Mrs. Bridget O'Keefe, wife of Patrick O'Keefe of Ontario
Street, died at Memorial Hospital on Saturday morning. Mrs. O'keefe who
was 71 years of age, had only been at the hospital since the previous evening.
She
leaves besides her husband, 2 sons, John and Vincent O'Keefe, both of
this city, one daughter, Mrs. G. G. Engert of Rochester, and a brother Patrick
McQuillan, whose home is in Ireland. Funeral held at St. Mary's church and
interment in Calvary. She

McVicar, daughter of George McVicar, of Livonia, and Norman
Ingraham, son of Mrs. Lillian Ingraham, of this village.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. N. Wolerton, pastor of the First Baptist church. Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham have been motoring in West Virginia and Maryland, and after September 1st, will be at home in the Harry D. Norton bungalow in South Avenue, East Bloomfield

Mrs. Sarah Ryan Meagher, wife of Henry Meagher, aged 72 years, died Monday evening, at her home in the Northeastern part of the town. Besides her husband she leaves no near relatives, except nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Thursday morning at St. Bridget's Church, Rev. George W. Doud, pastor of the church officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.

- Mrs. Cora Kesel,
wife of Frank Kesel, passed away at her home on Boughton Hill Wednesday
night, April 22, 1936. She had been in poor health for several years and had
been confined to her bed for about a year. She was 59 years old.
Besides
her husband, Mrs. Kesel is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs.
Esther Putnam, Victor, Mrs. Pauline Henehan, Rush, Lewis and
Robert Kesel of Victor, two sisters and three brothers. Services held
Saturday morning at Catholic church, Honeoye Falls. Burial made there.

Gertrude
M. VanVechten, 80, of Canandaigua, died yesterday after a long illness.
Mrs. VanVechten was born in Rochester, and was married to the late
Robert S. VanVechten. They lived in Vine Valley until moving to Canandaigua
in 1987.
Surviving
are two daughters, Carol McGowan of Spencerport and Margaret Brussel of
Baldwinsville, a son John, of Canandaigua, two sisters, Helen M.
Campbell and Mildred M. Tucker of Canandaigua, three brothers, William
and Ralph Metherell of Canandaigua, and Charles Metherell of Hilton,
eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at the Canandaigua First United
Methodist Church. A reception at the church will follow the service.

was the son of Fred E. VanVechten

ANNIVERSARY - Mr and Mrs. VanVechten
Mr.
and Mrs. Robert VanVechten of Vine Valley and Canandaigua, recently
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house at the Vine Valley
Community Hall. One hundred fifty guests, including seven of the original
bridal party, attended the celebration hosted by their children and their
spouses, Carol and James McGowan of Spencerport, Margaret and Robert
Brussel of Baldwinsville, and John and Catherine VanVechten of
Canandaigua.
Mr.
and Mrs. VanVechten were married October 16, 1937, at the Lake Avenue
Baptist Church in Rochester. VanVechten is retired from the Canandaigua
Veterans Administration Medical Center, and is past president of the Canandaigua
Rotary Club. Mrs. VanVechten is a homemaker. They also have seven
grandchildren.

S. VanVechten, age 76 of 23 Leeward Lane, Canandaigua, died May 12, 1989 in
Rochester.
Surviving
are his wife, Gertrude Metherell VanVechten, 2 daughters, Mrs. James
Carol McGowan, Spencerport, Mrs. Robert Margaret Brussel of Baldwinsville, son
John W. VanVechten, Canandaigua, 8 grandchildren, sister, Mrs. Herbert
Lois Harp, Fredonia, brother, Donald C. VanVechten of Rochester,
several nieces and nephews. Kennedy and Son Funeral Home, Bristol St.,
Canandaigua and First United Methodist Church.
Robert S. VanVechten, 76, died Friday, May 12, at Highland Hospital in Rochester. Mr. VanVechten, a former employee of Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, was also a grape farmer in Vine Valley, and retired in 1979 from the Canandaigua Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He
was a member of the Canandaigua Rotary Club and former member of the YMCA board
of directors. He was a volunteer and active board member at Rotary Camp Onseyawa.
He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Canandaigua.
Surviving him by his wife, Gertrude Metherell VanVechten, two daughters, Mrs. James Carol McGowan of Spencerport, and Mrs. Robert Margaret Brussel of Baldwinsville, a son, John W. VanVechten of Canandaigua, a sister, Mrs. Herbert Lois Harp, of Fredonia, a brother Donald C. VanVechten of Rochester.

Death of Mrs. Arcene Migeon Munson Who Came Here Sixty Years Ago
The
death of Mrs. Arcene Migeon Munson, widow of Henry Munson,
occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry M. Parmele at an early
hour on Wednesday morning. Though
Mrs. Munson had been in failing health, her remarkable vitality had resisted
the weakening encroachments of old age, and she had been critically ill only
since Friday.
For
sixty years she had been a resident of this village. She was born in Harricourt,
Department of Ardennes, France, on September 27, 1822, and when seven years of
age, her father, Henry Migeon, brought his family to this country.
A
warm and personal friend of her grandfather, General LaFayette, had given
her father letters of introduction to his friends in this country, in whose
defense he had borne arms when the young Republic was struggling for liberty.
The voyage was made in a sailing vessel and occupied 9 weeks.
Mr. Migeon with his family, settled in Torrington, Conn., and
later removed to Litchfield, where he purchased the Governor Wolcott home,
one of the beautiful historic places of that state, where in 1776 the women of
the town had met and melted a statue of George III, and from the mol;ten mass
made bullets to be used in the cause of freedom.
Within
its walls Washington and Lafayette had enjoyed the hospitality of Governor
Wolcott, and within these same historic walls, in 1849, Mrs. Munson's
father entrusted her to the keeping of her husband, whom she had met while on a
trip to Niagara Falls in company with her father.
Mr.
Migeon, and his daughter had stopped at East Bloomfield to visit in the
Newton Home. Mr. and Mrs. Munson's home was in the cottage next to the
Academy, and there Mrs. Munson and her two daughters continued to reside
after the death of Mr. Munson in 1864.
Eight
years ago Mrs. Munson removed with Mr. and Mrs. Parmele to their
present residence. She leaves her two daughters, Mrs. B. S. Eastwood, of
Huntington, Mass., and Mrs. Parmele, three granddaughters, and one
sister, Mrs. Brahy, of Paris, France. The funeral will be held from the Parmele
home this morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. W. D. Robinson officiating.
