TWO LYONS SOLDIERS HURT IN NORMANDY
Lyons
-
Late casualty lists name two Lyons boys injured on the Normandy
battlefront. Byron Nellis Jr. was wounded in action July 14,according to
word received by his mother, Mrs. Lillian Nellis, but there were no
particulars.
The young private is an only son, and was graduated from Lyons High School the year before he donned the uniform. Fifteen minutes after the Army telegram came notifying Mrs. Nellis that her son was wounded, the mailman brought her a letter from him dated July 24, 10 days after he was wounded, in which he made no mention of any injury.

OBITUARY - Roby N. Kennedy
Canandaigua resident Roby N. Kennedy of West Gibson St.
died yesterday, December 9, at her home. She was 87.
Mrs. Kennedy, the widow of the late Thomas Kennedy, was
a graduate of the University of Richmond in Virginia and Farmville Teachers
College. At one time she taught school in the Richmond, Va. school district
and was also a former case worker for the Ontario County Dept of Social
Services.
Surviving
are her daughter, Helen Kennedy, a brother and three sisters in Virginia,
four grandsons, Thomas, Mark, Michael and Pete Kennedy, and a Great
grandson, Daniel Sterling. She was predeceased by her sons and daughter
in law, Judge Robert Kennedy and T. Hamilton and Marian Kennedy.
Friends
may call today from 7 to 9 PM at John C. Johnson Funeral Home, 47 N. Main
Street, where services will be held tomorrow. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery. Her
body was
interred 1992 Canandaigua, New York, Calvary Cemetery.

of Canandaigua, the City Treasurer, and Miss Roby
Newton of Petersberg, Virginia, were married in that city Thursday morning.
Attendants were Miss Jean Newton, sister of the bride, and James P.
Donovan of this city. After a short wedding trip they will reside at 124
West Gibson Street.

was born Canandaigua, New York September 08, 1893.
Birth record number 817 at Canandaigua City Clerk. Thomas was the son of
Henry James Kennedy
and Catherine
Moran.

Ontario County Archive record number 4524 on microfilm at Hopewell, NY,
lists his age as 26 years, born Canandaigua, occupation was Conductor R and E.
His parents were Henry J, Kennedy and Katherine Moran, both USA. Frances was
listed as a stenographer, born Brooklyn, NY, father was Edward P. Hamilton and
mother was Mary Morrissey, both of USA. She was age 23 years.

The
marriage of Thomas Daniel Kennedy, Clark Street, and Miss Frances
Lillian Hamilton, Center Street, took place at St. Mary's church on Monday. Rev.
James T. Dougherty performed the ceremony. The bride wore a blue suit with
taupe hat. Her corsage bouquet was of bride's roses.
She
was attended by Miss Elizabeth Kennedy of Canandaigua, sister of the
groom, who wore a blue suit with a black hat. Her bouquet was pink roses. The
groom was attended by William Hanley. Ushers were Raymond and John Kennedy, cousins
of the groom. The wedding music was played by Miss Ruth Pierce and Mrs. Fred
S. Haubner sang.
A
wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mrs. Helen McCarthy, Center
Street, with whom the bride resided. Covers were laid for 25.
They will reside at Atwater Place.
Married
at St Mary's Church, the Rev James T. Dougherty performed the ceremony.
Bride was attended by Elizabeth L. Kennedy, a sister of the groom. The
groom was attended by William J. Hanley.
Thomas died August
04, 1959 Rochester, New York, at 65 years of age.

Thomas D. Kennedy, age 65, died August 4, at Highland Hospital. He
was the city treasurer of Canandaigua for 27 years, a member of St. Mary's
Church and the Holy Name Society, a World War I veteran, a member of the
American Legion and the 40 and 8, past County Commander and past Commander of
Post 256 of Canandaigua.
He is survived by his wife, Roby N, two sons, T. Hamilton and Robert, of Canandaigua, one daughter, Helen R. Kennedy of West Chester, Pa., one brother, Jack, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Burr, both of Shortsville, four grandchildren, one nephew. Friends may call at the John C. Johnson Funeral Home. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. American Legion will conduct military rites at the cemetery.

NEWARK - Lewis H. Randall of 100 Bloomer Ave., Elmira, a native of Newark, died Friday, May 17, 1963 in Elmira. He was 44.
Mr.
Randall was born Nov. 30, 1918, a son of Lewis H. and Dorothy Mae
Randall. He attended Newark schools and had been employed at the Corning
Glass Works. A World War II veteran, Mr. Randall was a member of the
American Legion and VFW posts in Elmira.
Surviving
are his widow, Margaret Armstrong Randall of Elmira, two daughters, Mrs.
Rhuel Hibbard, of Newark, and Kathleen Randall of Clifton Springs,
and one son Lewis H. Randall 3rd of Rochester, one brother, Arthur B.
Williams of Newark, and one granddaughter.
A
service will be held Monday in the Olthof Funeral Home in Elmira, with burial in
Elmira. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
At 26 years of age Lewis
became the
father of Kathleen Randall
