OBITUARY - PIERCE
The
death of Robert Melvin Pierce, 86, 0f Bristol Court, lifelong resident of
Ontario County and a former town welfare officer, occurred, Sunday evening in
Memorial hospital, where he had been ill for several weeks. Mr. Pierce
was born in the town of Bristol, January 9, 1851, son of William and Rowena
Carpenter Pierce.
He
lived for 48 years on his farm on the Cheshire road, moving to Canandaigua nine
years ago to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Mabel Sangster. He had
served several terms as town welfare officer and was a charter member of the
Canandaigua Grange.
He
leaves two sons and two daughters, Leon J. and Rollin M. Pierce, Mrs. Mabel
Sangster, and Mrs. Carlton McMillan, all of Canandaigua, also three
brothers, Benton T. Pierce of Reed Corners, Leighton and George W.
Pierce of Canandaigua, 16 grandchildren and three gr grandchildren. The
funeral was held on Wednesday from the home of Mrs. Sangster in Bristol
Court. Interment made in Evergreen Cemetery, Bristol.

OBITUARY - Mrs. R. Melvin Pierce
Mrs.
Ida Pierce, aged 56 years, wife of R. Melvin Pierce of Canandaigua
town, died suddenly at her home Saturday afternoon following a stroke of apoplexy.
Funeral services were held from the home yesterday afternoon, Rev. Livingston
L. Taylor of the Congregational church officiating. Interment was in Baptist
Hill cemetery.
Deceased leaves her husband, two sons and two daughters,
Leon and Rolland Pierce, Mrs. Carlton McMillan and Mrs. George Sangster,
all of Canandaigua. She

The
marriage of Carlton George McMillan and Miss Jennie L. Pierce took place
at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Melvin Pierce,
Cheshire road, Wednesday afternoon, at 5 30 o'clock.
Rev. C. Clarence Baker performed the ceremony in the presence
of 80 relatives and friends. The
house was profusely decorated with crepe paper and chrysanthemums to carry out
the color scheme of yellow and white.
The bride wore a gown of white crepe silk trimmed and carried white carnations. Mrs. James K. Haire played the wedding music. Dinner was served following the ceremony. The couple left during the evening for a southern trip after which they will reside on the Holcomb road. The bride's going away gown was blue silvertone with taupe hat.
Prenuptial events were a dinner by the employees of the Canandaigua Dry Goods Company at the Canandaigua Hotel, a variety shower given by Mrs. James K. Haire and Mrs. Clare Case, at the home of Mrs. Haire, a kitchen shower by Mrs. George Sangster and a variety shower by Mrs. Roy Hurlbutt.

Mrs. CHARLES NOTT
Aged
about 35 years, wife of Charles Nott, of the West Lake Shore Road, died
at the Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon following an operation for gall
stones about five weeks ago.
She
is survived by her husband and three small children, also her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. R. Melvin Pierce, and two brothers, Leon and Rollin, and
three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Sangster, Mrs. Jessie Case, and Miss Jennie Pierce.

NOTT - The death of Mrs. Minerva H. Pierce, wife of Charles E. Nott, West Lake Road, occurred at Memorial Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Deceased underwent an operation five weeks ago.
She was born in Bristol, on March 5, 1875. Besides her husband, she leaves three small sons, Melvin C. , Sibley E., and Walter, her parents Mr. and Mrs. R. Melvin Pierce, two brothers, Leon and Rollen Pierce, three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Case, Mrs. Mabel Sangster, and Miss Jennie Pierce, of Canandaigua.
The
funeral services will be held from the parents home on Cheshire Road, today.
Rev. Livingston L. Taylor will officiate. Interment will be at Bristol. Her
body was
interred 1914 Bristol, New York, Flatiron Road Cemetery.

WEDDING BELLS HIGLEY - PIERCE
The
marriage of Miss Ida M. Pierce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon J. Pierce, of
the Cheshire Road, and William F. Higley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Higley, of Academy, took place at Reed Corners, Saturday evening at 8 PM in
the home of the officiating clergyman, the Rev. Ralph D. Ross, pastor of
the Cheshire Community church.
The
bride who was attended by Mrs. Gladys Higley Vogt, of Canandaigua, sister
of the bridegroom, wore a dark blue printed crepe with a corsage bouquet of pink
rosebuds. Her matron of honor was
in blue crepe and wore pink sweet peas. Robert Pierce, of Canandaigua,
brother of the bride, was best man.
Mr. and Mrs. Higley will live with his parents on the Academy tract. He attended Canandaigua Academy and she was a member of the 1933 class.

Helen Elizabeth Bundy, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William Bundy of Hopewell, and Ralph William Pimm of
Farmington, were married at the Methodist parsonage here Friday afternoon, the Rev.
John H. Willis performing the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Pimm, of
Farmington, brother and sister of the couple, were the attendants. After a short
western trip, Mr. and Mrs. Pimm will live in Farmington.

Miss
Ruth Cornelia Bundy, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William Bundy of Hopewell, and Allen Irving Pimm, son of Mr.
and Mrs. William Pimm of Farmington, were married at the summer home of the
officiating clergyman, Rev. S. G. Houghton, at Holland's Cove, Lake
Ontario, Wednesday afternoon.
Attendants were Paul W. Bundy and Miss Mary Walbridge of Canandaigua. Following a trip through the Western part of the state, Mr. and Mrs. Pimm will live with his parents.

Funeral services for Shirley Ruth Pimm, 22 months old daughter of Allen and Ruth Bundy Pimm of Farmington, who died of pneumonia Friday morning in Memorial Hospital were held Monday afternoon. Interment made in Shortsville.
Besides her parents she leaves one sister, Myrna Ester Pimm at home, her grandparents, William Pimm of Farmington, and Mr. and Mrs. William Bundy of Hopewell, and her great grandmothers, Mrs. Cornelia Bundy of this city and Mrs. Emma Greer of Farmington. Her body was interred 1936 Shortsville, New York.
