Mr. Thompson was for many years a resident of the town of Crawford, where he filled several stations of honor and usefulness. In 1845 he was elected to the state Assembly, and faithfully represented the interests of his constituents. Last spring he removed to Newburgh with the intention of passing his declining years in rest and quietness. His death was sudden and unexpected. he had attended the funeral of his daughter, at Paterson, where he contracted a cold of such peculiar form and severity as to cause his death. Ripe in years, respected and honored by all who enjoyed his acquaintance, he has been gathered to that final place of rest appointed for all.---Telegraph.
Mar. 8--In New York, after a lingering illness, Mary, wife of David Fancher, in her 57th year.
Her remains were taken to Warwick, Orange co., on Thursday morning.
