DIED.
Sept. 11--At his residence in the town of Warwick, of apoplexy, Maj. James Wheeler, a highly respected citizen, in the 69th year of his age.
July 10--On the Isthmus of Panama, while on his way to California, David Kirk, of this town, aged 21 years, 6 months and 27 days. Mr. K. left for California June 19th, and died after a sickness of four days.
Aug. 20--At Montgomery, of consumption, Geo. E. Gridley, aged about 29 years.
Aug. 31--In Montgomery, Calvin P. Couch, aged 36 years.
Mr. C. died from the effects of an explosion of a camphene lamp, which he carelessly attempted to fill while burning, after a painful and protracted illness of three weeks. He was an exemplary citizen, and an industrious and thriving tiller of the soil. Beginning life extremely poor, by his industry and good management, he died the owner of a moderate amount of property and the possessor of the esteem and respect of his fellow citizens.

Aug. 26--In Mamakating, Charles Harding, aged 79 years.
Aug. 30--At Liberty, Ann, wife of Moses Y. Grant, of Neversink, aged 45 years.
Aug. 31--Near Monticello, Edwin W., son of Monroe Relyea, aged 10 years.
Aug. 31--Henrietta, infant daughter of Col. Sam Fowler, of Port Jervis.
Sept. 2--In Goshen, Caroline Brinson, (colored,) aged about 30 ys. 3--David Deas, (colored,) aged about 55 ys. 3--Mary Smith, aged 5 ys. 4--Edward, son of Mary Smith, aged 5 ys.
Sept. 4--In Warwick, Frederick Demarest, aged 56 years.
Sept. 9--In Newburgh, Abraham Dewitt, aged 51 ys 10 m. 9--Timothy O., child of Jas. W. White, aged 7 ms 4ds.
Sept. 12--In New York, of dysentary, Caroline, wife of Howard Puff, in her 24th year. Her remains were brought to Middletown for interment.
