Emma Squires Briscoe

Mrs. Emma Squires Briscoe, a former resident, died on September 10 at Arlington, Mass.
She was born in Port Jervis, N.Y., on October 24, 1879, the daughter of Richard A. Conkling and Mary Ann Baird. In 1897 she was united in marriage to Oliver D. Squires, who died in 1923. She was married in 1940 to Harry Briscoe who died in 1942.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Port Jervis.
Surviving members of the family are a daughter, Norma Hope, wife of Edward F. Sullivan, Arlington, Mass.; a granddaughter, Emily Hope, wife of William F. Herlihy, of Arlington, and three great-grandchildren. Michael William, Edward Francis and Patricia Anne Herlihy. She is further survived by one brother, Richard A. Conkling, of Amity, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Terwilliger-Woolsey-Case Co., with the Rev. Robert S. Jones officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
