Grace Bessie VanBenschoten

MIDDLETOWN -- Grace "Bessie" VanBenschoten of Park Manor, Dunning Road, Middletown, and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, Nov. 25, in Park Manor, Middletown, after a long illness. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Nial and Emma Burpre Jacobs, she was born March 24, 1894, in Crystal Run, Town of Wallkill. The widow of Frank VanBenschoten, she was a member of Webb Horton Presbyterian Church, Middletown.
Survivors include two daughters: Gladys Souter of Middletown, and Frances Harris of Jacksonville, Ariz.; a son, Earl VanBenschoten of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Irving Jacobs of New Mexico; two sisters: Mary Ellen Hoskins of Montgomery and Ruth Hinckley of Middletown, and several grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at P.J. Reilly-Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. James MacNaughton Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Wallkill Cemetery , Phillipsburg.

PEARL VanBENSCHOTEN of Delmar Road, Slate Hill, a lifelong resident of the area, died Friday, Nov. 9, at Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown. She was 68.
The son of the late Charles E. and Margaret A. Stewart Knibbs, she was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Slate Hill. She was the widow of Frank W. VanBenschoten and a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Ridgebury.
Survivors include two sons, Frank W. VanBenschoten, Jr. of New Hampton and John A. VanBenschoten of Slate Hill; three daughters, Carol A. Hujus and Beth Ann VanBenschoten, both of Slate Hill, and Jean D. Normoyle of Middletown; two brothers Edward Knibbs of Middletown and Gary Knibbs of Slate Hill, two sisters Lucille Doty of Bullville and Margaret Struble of Slate Hill; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Ralston-Lippincott Funeral Home, 72 W. Main St., Middletown.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Edna M. Felter and the Rev. William Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgebury.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Dialysis Center, 168 Crystal Run Road, Middletown.
