Jonathan E. Pillsworth

Mr. Jonathan E. Pillsworth died at his residence in this village Wednesday last. He had been the correspondent for the Goshen Democrat for several years and known as “Pax.” His death was caused partly by paralysis and lung trouble contracted while in the army. He enlisted Aug. 10, 1864, in the 50th regiment under Col C.H. Van Wyck and served during the war. He was married to Mary Anderson in 1871 and in 1872 he and his wife united with the Church and he has since been an exemplary Christian. His wife and one daughter seven years old survive him.
