FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Robert "Boojer" Brown, 68, of Fort Lauderdale, a former Orange County sports figure, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 1990, at Broward General Hospital, Fort Lauderdale.
Mr. Brown, formerly of Port Jervis and an all-around athlete at Port Jervis High School, was a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs franchise and played with the Continental League of the Giants football team.
Born in Port Jervis, Sept. 25, 1922, he was the son of the late William and Viola Brown. He was a veteran of World War II and a former construction worker at a nuclear plant.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Bierstine Brown, at home; a son, Rick Brown of Middletown, N.Y.; and a daughter, Georgia Brown of San Jose, Calif.
Cremation took place.
