Deed on file at the Putnam County Clerk's office Book 34, page 130 dated 14 October 1858 between Lawrence Barrett and Lucinda, his wife and Samuel Head, all of Carmel. Witnessed by William B. Hazelton. Consideration of $650 given. Land described is in Carmel:

Beginning at a heap of stones in the line of DAVID T. VALENTINE'S land then northerly along the same 11 perches and 3 feet to a stake and stones then easterly about 10 rods to the southwest corner of the bridge across the Stillwater Brook on the road leading from Silas Slawson to Peekskill then with said Stillwater Brook southerly about 25 rods to the land of said Valentine and a stone wall thence along the same westerly to the place of beginning. (Containing 3 acres).
