Putnam Deed Book O, pp. 73-73, between Gabriel Christian and Susana his wife to William Hadden, all of Philips. Deed was dated 17 April 1837. Consideration was $1240. Stephen Barger, Daniel D. Travis and Wesley Christian were witnesses. Land was in Philipstown:

Beginning at a small walnut on the northwest corner of said lot from thence south 50 degrees east 33 chains and 51 links to the land of WIDOW JANE TOMPKINS to a heap of stones thence along the same thence south 48 degrees and 30 minutes west 7 chains 20 links to a heap of stones near an oak marked then south 39 degrees west along the line of Widow Jane Tompkins and BARTHOLOMEW TOMPKINS to an oak sapling being the southeast corner of said lot thence a southerly course to a stone wall in the meadow thence on the same to a stake and stones on the west side of the land then as the stone wall now stands round the meadow to an oak bush thence north 66 degrees west 8 chains 84 links to a small oak marked then north 2 degrees east 10 chains to a heap of stones thence north 13 degrees 7 chains to a butternut tree and corner of WILLIAM HADDENS land thence along the same north 42 degrees east 17 chains 55 links to the place of beginning.
