Deed Covenant against Grantor on file in Putnam Co., NY, Liber 49, pp. 357-359, from William Gale and Eunice his wife of Yonkers, Westchester County to Gilbert Hadden of Putnam Valley. Deed was dated 21 August 1855. Consideration was $100. Land was in Philipstown:

Being a lot purchased by J---? Gale deceased of JOHN ADAMS, deceased and (cut off) laying and being in Philipstown: Beginning (cut off) the line formerly CHARLES DUSENBURY now deceased (cut off) 6 rods north of line formerly of NATHAN DUSENBURY now deceased and runs east two or three rods to a white oak tree marked and one chain east of said (cut off) it turns north on line of an old fence to a chestnut oak bush marked still northerly to a white ash bush marked still northerly on the same course till (cut off) meets the line formerly of Charles Dusenbury thence (cut off) the land of said Dusenbury deceased southerly to the place of beginning. With a right of way to and from the same as same is expressed in a mortgage from James Gale deceased to James Brown, executor of Stephen Brown, deceased through the land formerly of John Adams deceased. Same premises included in a mortgage from James Gale deceased to said Brown executors sold at public venue 24 October 1853 by foreclosure of said mortgage.
