Deed on file at Putnam County Clerk's office Book 30, Page 599 for Samuel Head and Hannah, his wife to William Campbell, all of Carmel. Dated 29 March 1856, filed 30 April 1856 and witnessed by Amzi L. Dean, Justice of Peace. Consideration given was ($200?) Land described was in Carmel:

Beginning at the northeasterly corner of said piece of land at a stone marked with the line of WILLIAM PIERCE'S land and south side of the highway thence with said highway westerly 7 chains and 67 links to OSIAS HEAD'S land thence southerly along said Head's land 1 chain and 21 links to William Pierce's land then along the same and the fence as it now is 4 chains and 66 links to the corner of said lot then along the same northerly 1 chain and 48 links to (bend?) in wall then along the same easterly 3 chains and 57 links to the place of beginning. (1 1/2 acres).
