James & Mary Headdy to John Patten [55:17]

Deed on file at Putnam County, Grantor Book 55, pp. 17-18? between James Headdy and Mary Headdy (doesn't state "his wife") of Philipstown to John Patten of New York City. Deed dated 12 June 1875, witnessed by C. H. Ferris and recorded 9 Feb 1876. Consideration given is $25. The land is in Philipstown and is stated as 3 acres formerly belonging to STEPHEN LAWRENCE, deceased and the same lands conveyed to James Headdy by William Frost and wife by deed of 11 Feb 1874.

Beginning at a maple tree marked on two sides on the line of ISAAC SPRINGER'S land, thence north 25 rods to a brick tree marked on the same line from thence northwest 14 rods to a walnut sapling standing on the east and west line between the townships, thence running westerly alongs said line 7 rods to a chestnut tree marked, from thence southeast 24 rods to a rock oak tree marked, from thence still southeasterly 14 rods to the first mentioned bounds.
