On file at Putnam Grantor Book 34, pp. 500-503 between James Heady and Amy his wife and Elsi Banker, all of Putnam Valley. Deed is dated 1 May 1856, witnessed by Stephen J. Lent with consideration given of $1200. Deed is for 21 acres, 1 rood, 7 (peidles?) and the land is in Putnam Valley:

Beginning at a corner with JOHN GILBERT'S land and a heap of stones on the northeast corner of said lot thence running south with highway leading from FOWLERS MILL to the FOWLER ADAMS thence south with said highway 3 3/4 degrees east along said highway 8 chains and 60 links thence south 13 degrees west 6 chains and 70 links to the lands of JAMES FOWLER thence south 74 1/2 degrees west 13 chains and 59 links along the same to other lands of said Fowler and lands of (SANAS?) SILLICK, deceased thence north 15 degrees east along the same 19 chains and 78 links to the lands of said Gilberts thence along said Gilberts land south 86 degrees east 10 chains to the place of beginning. Reserving one acre heretofore sold by DAVID K. CONKLIN to JOHN ODELL and occupied by JOSEPH FORMAN situated on the southwest corner of said lot subject to a mortgage of $400 to David K. Conklin by the parties of the first part from 1 April 1856 and also subject to mortgage of $210 to JOHN B. COLE by parties of the first part.
