The deed is dated 26 Sept 1861, witnessed by Benjamin Horn and recorded by Edmond Wright on 22 Oct 1861. Consideration given is $50. Warranty deed is for 76 rods of land in Putnam Valley:
Beginning on the easterly side of the highway running southeastwardly from Adams Corner at the corner of land now owned by the said DANIEL HEAD party of the second part - thence along said highway north 2 1/2 degrees east 1 chain and 50 links - thence due east 3 chains and 36 links - thence south 10 degrees west 1 chain and 50 links - thence due west 3 chains to the place of beginning.

Daniel Heady's will, #236-1890 on file in Westchester Co., NY is signed 10 Feb 1882 and witnessed by J. L. H. Curry of Shrub Oak, Abraham and Theodore Hill. It appears that Theodore is of Jefferson Valley. Daniel signed his name as Daniel Heady. Daniel appointed his wife Mary Jane and William John Jr. (Carpenter of Shrub Oak, NY) to be his executors. He bequeathed all to his Mary Jane for her use and stated at her death that all property should be divided among their children or heirs. He called himself a farmer of Yorktown, Westchester Co., NY. |
