Sunday. She was 48.Campolettano grew up in Hicksville, and graduated from

of Technology in 1973, she took a job as a sales manager at Macy's in the
Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. She later moved to the Human Resources Department,
and worked there until she became ill in 1998.In 1976, she married Carl
Campolettano, and the couple moved to Massapequa Park to raise their family. From
1986 until 1992, Campolettano helped her husband with his duties as president

was transmitted to their children-all three won lacrosse scholarships to
college. Her sister, Pat Sollitto of Wantagh, said Campolettano rarely missed
her children's games. In May, Campolettano was too ill to attend her daughter
Michelle's lacrosse match, an important game that would decide the Catholic

scholarship to the University of Delaware last year-went on to score six

determined to win," Michelle told a reporter after the game. "I wanted to
win for my mom." Michelle left college in the fall to care for her
mother.Campolettano was outgoing by nature, Sollitto said. "She could strike
up a conversation with anybody," she said. "She was a very happy, friendly
person." In addition to her work with the lacrosse team, Campolettano spent
her free time at the beach, preferring Tobay Beach near her home.Sollitto
said she was inspired by Campolettano's powerful faith. "She amazed her family
with her upbeat approach in dealing with the disease and the courage she
displayed right down to her last day," Sollitto said in a statement she wrote
after her sister's death. In addition to her husband, sister and and daughter,

said Chapman, born in Key West, Fla., in 1913, died Thursday of complications
from cancer in Falls Church, Va., a Washington suburb. His career as a Marine

and he epitomized everything it means to be called a Marine. He guided our
corps through turbulent times, demobilization and the ultimate recovery from
the Vietnam years."His many contributions kept the Marine Corps on the right
path and brought us to where we are today." Chapman saw extensive service
