NY Pardons,
Commutations & Reprieves |
Many thanks to Susan Mulvey for sharing this great work with researchers!
| The Constituition
requires that the Governor "shall annually communicate to the
Legislature each case of reprieve, commutation or pardon granted,
stating the named of the convict, the crime of which he was convicted,
the sentence and its date, and the date of the cummutation, pardon or
reprieve."
This was taken from the book "Public Papers of Lucius Robinson Governor of the State of New York 1877," The Argus Company, Printers 1877, Albany, NY, pages 177 to 229. By the way Governor Robinson was governor from 1877 to 1880. |
