Marriage Certificate Aaron MARSHALL and Mary HALSTEAD, 15d 10m 1794

Whereas Aaron MARSHALL Son of David and rebecah MARSHALL of New Castle in the County of Westchester & State of New York and Mary HALLSTED daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth HALLSTED of Stephen Town in the County and State aforesaid having declared their Intentions of Marriage with Each other before two Monthly Meetings of the people Caled Quakers held at Shapaqua & Amewalk according To the good order Used amongst them and they haveing Consent of parents and nothing Appearing to Obstruct their said proposals Wear Allowed of By said Meeting. Now these are to Certify all Whome It May Concern that for the full Accomplishment of their said Intentions of Marriage This 15th day of the tenth Month in the Year 1794 they the said Aaron MARSHALL & Marh HALLSTED Appeared in a Publick meeting of said people & others at Amewalk & the said Aaron MARSHALL takeing the said Amy Mary HALLSTED by the hand did in a Solemn manner openly declare that he took her to be his wife promiseing through divine assistance to be unto her a true and Loveing husband untill Death Separate them or words to that effect. & There and therin the Said assembly the said Mary HALLSTED did In Like manner openly declare that She took the Said Aaron Marshall to be her husband promesing Through divine Assistance to be unto him a true and Loving Wife Untill death Separate them or Words to that Import and moreover They the Said Aaron MARSHALL and Mary HALLSTED She according to the Custum of marriage Assuming the name of her husband as a Further Confirmation thereof did their and then to these prsents Set their hands and we whose names are hereunto Subscribed being present at the Solemnization of said Marriage & Subscription have as Witnesses hereunto set our hands the day and year above Written
