Marriage Certificate of Daniel MARSHALL and Freelove CARPENTER, 16d 12m 1790 

Whereas David MARSHALL Son of Daniel MARSHALL and Rebeccah his wife of Northcastle in the County of Westchester and State of New York And Freelove CARPENTER Daughter of Abraham CARPENTER deceased and Lydia his wife of the Town County & State above and Haveing declared Their Intentions of Marriage With Each Other before two MMeetings of The people Called Quakers Held at Shapaqua In the County & State aforesaid, According to the good Order Used amongst them and They having Consent of parents and parties Concerned & Nothing Appearing to Obstruct these said Proposals Were allowed of by said Meeting.  Now These are to Certify all Whome It may Concern that for The full Accomplishment of their said Intentions this 16th day of 12th M. 1790 They the Said Daniel MARSHALL and Freelove CARPENTER Appeared In a publick Meeting of the said people at Shapaqua In the County & State aforesaid And the said Daniel MARSHALL takeing the Said Freelove CARPENTER By the hand did In a Solemn Manner Openly Declare that he took the said Freelove CARPENTER to be his Wife Promiseing thru divine Assistance to be unto her a faithrull and Loving husband Untill death Separate them or words to that Effect and then & there In the Said Assembly the Said Freelove CARPENTER did in Like Manner Openly declare that She took the Said Daniel Marshall to be her husband promiseing thru divine assistance to be Unto him a faithfull & Loving Wife Untill death [...] Them or Words to that Import.  and Moreover they the Said Daniel MARSHALL & Freelove CARPENTER She according to the Custom of Marriage Assuming the name of her Husband as a further Confirmation there of did then & there to these presents Set there hands and we whose names are here [...] subscribed being present at the Solomnization of Said marriage did Subscribe those as witnesses here Unto Set our hands The day and year above Written.
