Marriage Certificate Daniel QUINBY and Deborah POWELL, 21d 11m 1804

Whereas Daniel QUINBY son of Moses QUINBY and Bathsheba his wife of the town and County of Westchester in the state of newyork and Deborah POWEL daughter of Nathaniel POWEL and Anna his wife of the town of A[...] and County of dutchess & state afforsaid having declard their intentions of marrage with Each other before two Mo Mtgs of the People Calld Quckers held at the Creek in the town county and state afforsaid they having consent of parents and parties consn and nothing appearing to obstruct their sd. proposals were allowed of by the meetg.

Now these are to certify to all whom it may concern that for the full accomplishment of their sd intentions this 21st day 11mo 1804 they the sd Daniel QUINBY & Deborah POWEL appeard in a publick meetg meetg[sic] at the Creek afforsaid and he the sd Daniel quinby taking the s Deborah POWEL by the hands did in a solemn Maner openly declair that he took her to be his wif promising thru divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loveing husband untill deth seperate them or words to that import and then the sd Deborah POWEL did in like maner openly declare that she took the sd Daniel QUINBY to be her husband promising threw divine assistance to be unto him a faithful & loveing wife untill deth seperat them or words to that effect and moreover they the sd Daniel QUINBY & Deborah POWEL she according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband as a farther confirmation did then to these presents set their hands
