Marriage Certificate Daniel SMITH and Amy HARRIS, 26d 5m 1813

 Daniel SMITH town of Stanford County of Dutchess, and state of New York, son of Stephen SMITH and Rhoda his wife, and Amy HARRIS, daughter of George HARRIS and Martha his wife (the former decd.) town, county and state aforesaid, having laid their intentions of marriage with each other before two monthly meetings of the religious society of Friends held at the Creek, in the state aforesaid, they having consent of Parents, and nothing appearing to obstruct, their proposals of marriage was allowed of by the meeting.  These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this twenty-sixth day of fifth month in the year of our Lord, 1813, they the said Daniel SMITH and Amy HARRIS appeared in a public meeting of said society held at the Creek aforesaid, and the said Daniel SMITH taking the said Amy HARRIS by the hand did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his wife promising through divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loving husband untill separated by death or words to that import, and then she the said Amy HARRIS taking the said Daniel SMITH by the hand did in like manner declare that she took him to be her husband promising through divine aid to be a faithrul and loving wife until separated by death or words to that effect, and they the said Daniel SMITH and Amy HARRIS, she according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband.  As a farther confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands
