Marriage Certificate Edward RANSOME and Lydia AUSTIN, 23d 7m 1834 

Edward RANSOME of the Town of Marlborough County of Ulster and State of New York son of John RANSOME and Elizabeth his Wife and Lydia D. AUSTIN Daughter of Cornelius AUSTIN and Anna his Wife of the Town of Clinton County of Dutchess and State aforesaid having laid their intentions of Marriage with each Other before Two Monthly Meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at the Creek in the State aforesaid they having Consent of Parents and nothing appearing to Obstruct, there proposals of Marriage was allowed by the Meeting.  These are to Certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions, this Twenty Third Day of 7th mo. in the year of our Lord 1834 They the said Edward RANSOME and Lydia D. AUSTIN, appeared in a publick Meeting of said Society held at the Creek, And the said Edward RANSOME taking the said Lydia D. AUSTIN, by the hand, Did on This solemn Occation Declare that he took her to be his Wife, promising through Divine Assistance to be unto her a Faithful and Loving Husband untill Seperated by Death or words to that affect; And the said Lydia D. Austin did in like manner Declare that she took the said Edward RANSOME to be her Husband; Promising Through Divine assistance to be unto him a Faithful and Loving Wife, untill Seperated by Death or words to that import, and they the said Edward RANSOME and Lydia D. AUSTIN she, according to the custom of Marriage assuming the name of her Husband as a further Confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands
