Marriage Certificate Enoch HAIGHT and Lucena BRISTOL, 4d 11m 1824

 Whereas Enoch HAIGHT of the Town of Washington County of Dutchess and State of New York, son of Silas HAIGHT and Rhoda his wife, and Lusena A. BRISTOLL daughter of Charles & Mary BRISTOLL the former deceased, of the town, County & State aforesaid, having laid their intentions of marriage with each other before two monthly meetings of the society of Friends held at Ninepartners in the State aforesaid.  They having consent of Parents and nothing appearing to obstruct their proposals of marriage was allowed by the meeting, These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this 4th day of eleventh month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and Twenty four; they the said Enoch HAIGHT & Lusena A BRISTOLL appeared in a Publick meeting of said Society held at Ninepartners and the said Enoch HAIGHT taking the said Lusena A. BRISTOLL by the hand, did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his wife; promising through divine assistance to be unto her a kind and affectionate husband untill seperated by Death; or words to that effect; and then the said Lusena A. BRISTOLL did in like manner declare that She took the said Enoch HAIGHT, to be her husband promising through divine assistance to be unto him a kind & affectionate wife untill seperated by Death or words to that import; And they the said Enoch HAIGHT and Lusena A. BRISTOLL She according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further conformation thereof did then & there to these presents set their hands.
