Evans SPRAGUE of the town of New Paltz County of Ulster and state of New York son of Amasa SPRAGE and Sarah his wife and Lucretia D GARMO daughter of Elias D GARMO and Sarah his wife of the town of Pleasant Valley County of Dutchess & State of New York having laid their intentions of Marriage with each other before two monthly meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at Crum Elbo and the Creek in the State of New York they having consent of Parents and mothing appearing to obstruct their proposals of marriage was allowed of by the meeting. These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this 27th day of 9th mo. in the year of our Lord 1821 they the said Evans SPRAGE & Lucritia D GARMO appeared in a public meeting of said Society held at CrumElbo and the Said Evans SPRAGE taking the said Lucrtia D GARMO by the hand did in this solemn [...] declare that he took her to be his wife promising through Devine assistance to be unto her a faithfull and loving husband untill seperated by death or words to that effect and then the said Lucretea D GARMO did in like manner declare that she took the Said Evans SPRAGS to be her husband promising through Devine assistance to be unto him a faithfull and loving wife untill seperated by death or words to that import; and they the said Evans SPRAGES and Lucretia D GARMO she according to the custom of marriage assumed the name of her husband as a further confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands Evans SPRAGUE Lucretia SPRAGUE And we being present have subscribed our names as witnesses thereof
