Whereas Francis CLARK of the Town of Cornwall County of Orange and State of New York, son of Moses CLARK and Latishe his Wife, and Hannah [initial?] MULLENIX Daughter of Gideon MULENIX and Rhoda his Wife of Town of New Paltz County of Ulster and State of aforesaid having lain their intentions of Marriage with Each other before two Monthly meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at the plains in the state of aforesaid they having consent of Parents and nothing appearing to Obstruct; their proposals of Marriage was allowed of by the meeting. These are to Certify that for the accomplishments of their intentions this twenty eighth day of first month in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred & Eighteen they the said Francis CLARK and Hannah P. MULLENIX appeared in a Public meeting of Sd. society, held at the Paltz & the sd. Frances CLARK taking the sd. Hannah P. MULLENIX by the hand did on this Solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his Wife promising throug Divine assistance to be unto her a Faithful and Loveing husband untill Separated by Death or words to that effect then the said Hannah P. MULLENIX did in Like Maner declare that she took the said Francis CLARK to be her husband, Promesing through Divine assistance to be unto him A Faithful and Loving Wife untill separated by Death or words to that import. And they the sd. Francis CLARK & Hannah P. MULLENIX, she according to the Custom of Marriage Assuming the name of her husband, as A Farther confirmation thereof, did then and to these present their hands Francis CLARK Hannah P. CLARK And we being Present have subscribed our names as witnesses hereof
