Marriage Certificate Gideon MULLENIX and Rhoda BIRDSALL, 25d 4m 1787

Whereas Gideon MULLINEX Son of Thomas MULLINEX and Hannah his wife of Newborough in Ulster County and Rhoda BIRDSALL daughter of Zadock BIRDSALL and Lavina his Wife of Cortslands Manner and County of Westchester and State of New York haveing Declared their Intention of Marriage with Each other before two mo. meetings of friends at Shapaq. Whose proseedings their In after a deliberate Consideration thereof with Regard to the Righteous Law of God and Example of his people Recorded In the Scriptures of truth In that Case they appearing Clear of All others and having Concent of parents and no objection to hender Their proseeding the said Mo. meeting Allows them to Consumate their Marriage according to the Good Order Used Amongst friends Therefore these may Certify all Whome It may Concern that they The Sd. Gideon MULENEX and Rhoda BIRDSALL Appeared in A Publick meeting of the people Aforsd. with Others Assembled In Their meeting house at Amewalk the 25th of the 4th mo. 1787 And for the full Accomplishing theie Said Marriage And he The Said Gideon MULENIX taking the Sd. Rhoda BIRDSALL by the Hand did then and their declare that he took this friend Rhoda BIRDSALL to be his wife promising through divine Assistance to be Too [crossed out] A kind and Loving husband till death seperates us and also the sd. Rhoda BIRDSALL then and their Decleared that she took This friend Gideon MULLINEX to be her Husband promising to be too him A kind And Loveing Wife till death seperates us or words to that Import and for A further Confermation theirof They the Sd. Gideon MULLINEX and Rhoda BIRDSALL Did to these presents Set their Names she According to the Custom of Marriage Now Assuming Her Husbands Name
