Griffin WILLBUR of the Town of Clinton in the county of Dutchess and State of New York, Son of Nathan Willbur and abigail Willbur, and Dorcas Stringham Daughter of Thomas and Mary STRINGHAM of the Town County and State aforesaid, having laid their intentions of Marriage with each other before Two Monthly Meetings of the religious society of Friends held at Creek and Crumelbow in the said County of Dutchess, and having the concent of parents and nothing appearing to Obstruct, their proposals of Marriage was allowed by the Meeting; These are to Certify that for the accomplishment of their Intentions this 27th Day of 12th Mo. in the year of our Lord 1827 They the said Griffin WILLBUR and Dorcas STRINGHAM appearing in a publick meeting of said society held at Crumelbow in said County of Dutchess and the said Griffin Willbur taking the said Dorcas STRINGHAM by the hand did on this Solemn Occation that he took her to be his Wife promising thro Divine Assistance to be to her a faithful and Lofing Husband untill Seperated by Death (or words to that effect) and then the said Dorcas STRINGHAM did in like manner declare that she took the said Griffin WILLBUR to be her Husband, promising thro Divine assistance to be to him a faithful and Livong Wife untill seperated by Death (or words to that import) and they the said griffin WILLBUR and Dorcas STRINGHAM, she according to the Custom of marriage Assuming the name of her Husband as a further Confermation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands Griffin WILLBOR Dorcas WILLBOR And we being present subscribe our names as witnesses thereof
