Marriage Certificate Henry MACY and Jane POWELL, 20d 3m 1830 

Henry S. MACY son of Simeon MACY and Lydia his wife the former deceased of Ghent in the County of Columbia and State of New York and Jane POWEL daughter of James POWEL and Martha his wife the former deceased of Clinton in the County of Dutchess and State of New York, haveing laid their intentions of Marriage with each other before two Monthly Meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at Creek and Crumelbow int he State of New York they haveing Consent of parents and nothing appearing to obstruct their proposals of marriage, was allowed by the meeting These are to Certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this twentieth day of the third month in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty they the said Henry S. MACY and Jane POWEL appeared in a Publick Meeting of the Said Society held at Crumelbow and the said Henry S. MACY takeing the Said Jane POWEL by the hand did on this Solemn occasion declare that the took her to be his wife promiseing through divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loveing husband until sepperated by death or words to that affect and then the Said Jane POWEL did in like manner Declare that she took the Said Henry S. MACY to be her Husband Promising through divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loveing wife until sepperated by death or words to that import and they the Said Henry S. MACY and Jane POWEL she according to the custom of Marriage assumeing the name of her husband as a further confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands.
