Nicholas COCK of the Town of Monroe County of Orange and state of New York son of William COCK and Philadelphia COCK his wife (the former deceased) and Elizabeth PEARSALL daughter of Wait PEARSALL and Hannah his wife of the town County and state aforesaid having laid their intentions of Marriage with each other before two of the Monthly Meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at Smith’s Clove and Cornwall in the state of New York they having the consent of Parents and nothing appearing to obstruct their proposal was allowed by the meeting. These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this seventh day of the sixth month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Two they the said Nicholas COCK and Elizabeth PEARSALL appeared in a public Meeting of said Society held at Blooming Grove and the said Nicholas COCK taking the said Elizabeth PEARSALL by the hand and on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his wife promising through divine assistance to be unto her a faithfull and loving Husband until separated by death or words to that Effect and then the said Elizabeth PEARSALL did in like manner declare that she took the said Nicholas COCK to be her Husband Promising through divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving wife until separated by death or words to that import. And they the said Nicholas Cock and Elizabeth PEARSALL she according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her Husband as a further confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands Nicholas COCK Elizabeth COCK And we being present have subscribed our names as witnesses thereof
