Marriage Certificate Samuel H. BROWN and Rebecca C. FRITTS, 29d 3m 1832 

Samuel H. BROWN of the town of Monroe County of Orange and state of New York son of Jesse BROWN and Rachel his wife (the former deceased) and Rebecca C. FRITTS daughter of George FRITTS and Rebecca his wife (the latter deceased) of the Town County and State aforesaid having laid their intentions of Marriage with each other before two Monthly Meetings of the religious Society of Friends, held at Smith’s Clove and Cornwall in the State of New York they having consent of parents and nothing appearing to obstruct their proposal of Marriage was allowed by the meeting.  These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this twenty-ninth day of the third month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Two they the said Samuel H. BROWN and Rebecca C. FRITTS appeared in a public Meeting of said society held at Blooming Grove and the said Samuel H. BROWN taking the said Rebecca C. FRITTS by the hand did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his wife promising through divine Assistance to be unto her a faithfull and loving husband until separated by death or words to that Effect and then the said Rebecca C. FRITTS and in like manner acclaim that she took the said Samue H. BROWN to be her husband promising through divine Assistance to be unto him a faithfull and loving wife until separated by death or words to that effect And they the said Samuel H. BROWN and Rebecca C. FRITTS she according to the custom of Marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further confirmation thereof did there and then to these presents set their hands.
