Marriage Certificate Samuel PALMER and Deborah GREEN, 21d 3m 1799 

Whereas Samuel PALMER son of Obadiah PALMER and Catharine his wife of the Township of New Paltz County of Ulster and State of New York, and Deborah GREEN Daughter of Zophar GREEN and Phebe his wife of Washington Township Dutchess County and State aforesaid, having declared their intentions of marriage with each other before two Monthly Meetings of the People Called Quakers held at Nine Partners in the State aforesaid according tot he good order used among them and they having consent of Parents and parties concerned & nothing appearing to hinder or obstruct; their said proposals were allowed of by said Meeting.

Now these are to Certify all whom it may concern, that for the full accomplishment of their said Intentions this 21st day of third Month one thousand Seven hundred ninety nine they the said Samuel PALMER and Deborah GREEN appeared in a public Meeting of the said people at Nine Partners aforesd. and the said Samuel PALMER taking the said Deborah GREEN by the hand did in a Solemn manner openly declare that he took the said Deborah GREEN to be his wife promising thro Divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and Loving Husband until Death Seperate them or words to that effect; and then and there in the said the said[sic] Deborah GREEN did in like manner openly declare that she took the said Samuel PALMER to be her Husband promising thro divine Assistance to be unto him a faithful and Loving Wife until Death Seperate them or words to that import.  And Moreover they the said Samuel PALMER and Deborah GREEN (She according tot he custom of marriage assuming the name of her Husband) as a further Confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands.
