Marriage Certificate Shadrach RICKETSON and Mary BARMORE, 27d 9m 1837 

Shadrach RICKETSON of the town of Union Vale County of Dutchess, and State of New York Son of Jonathan RICKETSON and Sarah his wife and Mary BARMORE Daughter of Henry BARMORE and Bethany his wife of the town County and State as aforesaid having laid their intentions of marriage with each other before two monthly meetings of the religious Society of friends held at Oswego in Said State they having consent of Parents and nothing apppearing to obstruct there proposals of marriage was allowed by the meeting.  These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this twenty seventh day of the ninth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven they the said Shadrach RICKETSON and Mary BARMORE appearing in a public meeting of Said Society held at Oswego and [...] and Shadrach RICKETSON taking the Said Mary BARMORE by the hand did on this Solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his wife promising through Divine assistance to be unto her a faithfull and loving husband until separated by death or words to that effect and then the Said Mary BARMORE did in like manner declare that that[sic] she took the said Shadrach RICKETSON to be her husband promising with Divine assistance to be unto him a faithfull and loving wife until separated by Death or words to that import And they the said Shadrach RICKETSON and Mary BARMORE she according to Custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further Confirmation they did then and there to these presents set their hands.
