Marriage Certificate Simeon MACY and Lydia WHITE, 3d 1mo 1798 

Whereas Simeon MACY Son of Abraham MACY and Priscilla his [sic] of the Klinakill in the County of Columbia and State of New York and Lydia WHITE Daughter of John WHITE and Mary his wife Deceased of the place aforesaid and State of New York having Declared their Intentions of marriage with Each other before two Monthly Meetings of the People Called Quakers held at Hudson in the State aforesaid According to the Good order used amongst them and they having Consent of Parents and Parties Concerned and Nothing appearing to obstruct thar Said Proposals were allowed of by Said Meeting Now these are to Certify all whome it May Concern that for the full accomplishment of their Said Intentions this third Day of the first Month in the year 1798 they the Said Simeon MACY and Lydia WHITE appeared in a Publick meeting of the Said People at the Klenakill afore Said and the Said Simeon MACY takeing the Said Lydia WHITE by the hand did in a Solemn Manner openly Declare that he took the Said Lydia WHITE to be his wife Promiseing through Divine assistance to be unto her a faithfull and Loveing husband untill Death Seperates them or words to that Effect.

And then and there in the Said assembly the Said Lydia WHITE did in like Manner openly Declare that She took the Simeon MACY to be her husband Promiseing through Divine Assistance to be unto him a faithful and Loving wife untill Death Seperates them or words to that Effect and Moreover they the Said Simeon MACY and Lydia WHITE She according to the Custom of Marriage assuming the Name of hir husband and as a further Confirmation thereof Did then and there to these Presents Set their hands
