Thomas MULLENIX of the Town of Paltz county of Ulster & State of New York, son of Gideon MULLENIX & Rhoda his Wife' & Phila SUTTON Daughter of David SUTTON & Sophia his Wife, of the Town, County & State Aforesaid having laid Their intentions of Marriage with Each other before two Monthly Meetings of the religeous Society of Friends held at Esopus & Plains, in the State aforesaid, they having consent of Parents & nothing appearing to obstruct their Proposal of Marriage was allowed of by the Meeting. These are to Certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this Second Day Second Month in the Year of our Lord 1820 They the said Thomas MULLENIX & Phile SUTTON appeared in a Public Meeting of Said Society held at the Paltz & the Said Thomas MULLENIX taking the said Phila SUTTON by the hand, did on this Solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his Wife Promising through Devine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loveing husband untill Separated by Death or words to that effect, & then the said Phila SUTTON, Did in like Manner declare that she took the said Thomas MULLENIX to be her husband Promising through devine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving Wife Untill Separated by Death or words to that import, & They the said Thomas MULLENIX and Phila SUTTON, she according to the custom of Marriage assuming the name of her husband, as a farther confirmation thereof, did then and to these Presence set their hands Thomas MULLENIX Phile MULLENIX And we being Present have Subscribed our names as Witnesses
