Marriage Certificate Willet SEAMAN and Mary B. ABBATT, 6d 3m 1834 

Whereas Willet SEAMAN of the town of Blooming Grove County of Orange & State of NewYork son of Silas SEAMAN & Hannah his wife & Mary B. ABBATT Daughter of William ABBATT (deceased) & Ann his wife of the Town of Monroe, County & state aforesaid having laid intentions of Marriage with each other before two monthly Meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at Cornwall and Smiths Clove in the state aforesaid they having consent of parents & nothing appearing to obstruct their proposal of Marriage was allowed by the Meeting these are to Certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this sixth day of the third Month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four they the said Willet SEAMAN and Mary B. ABBATT appeared in a public meeting of said Society held at Blooming Grove and the said Willet SEAMAN taking the said Mary B. ABBATT by the hand did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his Wife; promising through Divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loving Husband until separated by Death or words to that effect and then the said Mary B. ABBATT did in like manner declare that she took the said Willet SEAMAN to be her husband Promising through Divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving Wife until separated by death or words to that import and they the said Wilet SEAMAN and Mary B. ABBATT she according to the custom of Marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents sett their hands
