Marriage Certificate William B. ROBERTS and Clementine H. SPRAGUE, 30d 10m 1822 

William B. ROBERTS of the town of Marbletown County of Ulster and State of New York son of Benjamin W. ROBERTS and Sarah his wife and Clementine H. SPRAGUE Daughter of Amasa SPRAGUE and Sarah his Wife (the former Deceased) of the town of Newpaltz County of Ulster & State of New York, having laid their intentions of Marriage with each Other before two Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends held at Esopus and Plains in the State of New York they having Consent of Parents and Nothing appearing to obstruct their Proposals of Marriage was allowed them by the meeting.  These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this 30th day of the tenth Month in the year of our Lord 1822.  They the said William B. ROBERTS taking the said Clementine H. SPRAGUE by the hand, did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his wife Promising through divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loveing Husband untill separated by death or words to that effect and then the said Clementine H. SPRAGUE did in like manner declare that she took the said William B. ROBERTS to be her Husband promising through divine assistance to unto him a faithful and loveing Wife untill separated by Death or words to that import and they the said William B. ROBERTS and Clementine H. SPRAGUE she according to the custom of Marriag assuming the name of her husband as a farther confirmation thereof did then and to these presents set their hands
