Marriage Certificate William T. TITUS and Mercy W. HALLOCK, 3d 9m 1833 

William T. TITUS son of Thomas TITUS and Elizabeth his wife and Mercy W. HALLOCK daughter of Nehemiah F. HALLOCK and Elizabeth W. TITUS (the former deceased) all of the town of Cornwall in the County of Orange and state of New York having laid their intentions of marriage before two Monthly Meetings of the religious Society of Friends held at Cornwall in the state of New York they having consent of surviving parents and nothing appearing to obstruct their proposal of marriage was allowed by the meeting.  These are to Certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this third day of ninth Month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Three they the said William F. TITUS and Mercy W. HALLOCK appeared in a public Meeting of the said Society held at Cornwall and the said William T. TITUS taking the said Mercy W. HALLOCK by the hand did on this solemn occasion declare that he took her to be his Wife promising through divine assistance to be unto her a faithfull and loving husband until separated by Death or words to that Effect and the said Mercy W. HALLOCK did in like manner declare that she took the said William T. TITUS to be her husband promising through Divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and affectionate wife until separated by Death or words to that effect and they the said William T. TITUS and Mercy W. HALLOCK she according to the custom of Marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their hands
